Bought this amp to power a re audio mx d1 18 inch sub. It's wired in series for a 2 ohm load. I have a mechman 270 amp alternator and xs power d6500 battery. The big 3 is done and used a Stinger 0 gauge amp install kit. I set the gain using a smd dd1. The mids and highs are still running off the hu so this is the only amp drawing power. The amp won't play more than 10 to 15 minutes at moderate volume before shutting down. I've had real good luck with hifonics amps in the past but this one is a lemon.

I have this amp running 2 American Bass 12's. It has been going strong for over 3 years with not one issue. Well other than my hearing loss! That's right, be warned. This particular combination is dangerous! I did not upgrade my alternator however my stock one puts out 240 amps. I used 0 gauge wire and have an extra battery with solenoid so its only draws off of the main battery if the car is on. I highly recommend this amp for its extreme power and long lived reliability. Just warn your passengers and if you want to show off wear ear plugs. You have been warned!
