Way better than the OEM F150 Sony Sub
I have been looking for an audio upgrade for my 2010 Ford Raptor extended cab for a while. I have the factory Sony 700W system with the 8" sub, and while their stereo has great mids and highs it lacks SEVERELY in the bass department.
I have looked at my options which was build a custom box or get a pre-made box that takes up all the room in the back seat or requires you to MOVE the jack and tools, and spend a lot of money. Then, I came upon this little sub, and could not find any reviews for it. I took the plunge because this sub had the right specs, good frequency response, sensitivity, power, but best of all it fits in the same spot as the factory sub, and requires no moving of the factory jack.
It took a while for Sonic to deliver the item as it was backordered from the factory. It arrived about a month later, install was easy for me but the instructions were lacking to say the least (I had to pull a how-to from the Raptor forums). Otherwise, install took about 1.5hrs, and I was rocking and rolling.
This sub won't annoy your whole neighborhood, but it fills everywhere that the Sony couldn't. The lows are low and the sub can get loud. You can feel it in the cab and see it in the rear-view mirror. I have showed the sub to multiple other Raptor owners, all of which have ordered one. Best upgrade for the factory stereo you could ever do. Highly recommended.

Fits perfectly under the smaller seat so, it doesn't take up too much room. The remote bass control is a great feature and this Sub is an excellent upgrade for those looking to complete an inexpensive and awesome sound system upgrade to their truck.
I have the stock head unit with Infinity Reference Components in the front doors with infinity Reference Co-Axials in the rear. I was afraid I would need to add an amp on the stock head unit but the speaker upgrade did the trick. I used a PAC Audio interface to connect the Sub which was a breeze to install and requires no cutting or splicing of your stock Radio harness.
The Sub provides tight and loud bass that will (depending on the kind of music you listen to) can rattle your mirrors. Very nice!
Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars for durability is because the Molex connector they give you for the power/ground/remote wire fell apart when I was installing the Sub. I was able to re-assemble it but it's not a good design and uses 12-14 gauge wire which I believe is too small but it works. I contacted MTX and they replaced the connector without any hassles and in fact, they shipped it out Fedex and sent me a complete wiring kit! Props to MTX Customer Service!
So, if you're looking for a good Subwoofer that is easy to install and sounds great, you can't go wrong with a Thunderform!
