Good for toddlers

These are sturdy, perfectly sized headphones for toddlers. My daughter used them from age 2 to about 3.5. I love that the sound is limited for safe listening and protects their eardrums. But the downside to that is often the ambient noise around her (plane engine, people talking, car radio) is loud enough to drown out the sound that is coming from the headphones. At three and a half, my daughter says she has a harder time hearing from them and refuses to use them. Instead, she will keep the headphones on (she likes wearing them), but use whatever device she has (leapfrog, in her case) unplugged. Kind of defeats the point! I'm considering getting the next level up, as the product is good, but she just may need a slightly higher level in order to make sure that she can hear it over the sounds around her.
