Sick of looking at that stock stereo in your Volkswagen? Then Kenwood's DNX719VHD multimedia navigation receiver is a must for you! It fits right into the dash of select 2006-up Volkswagens, with no additional dash kit needed. You get a factory look with great features, including touchscreen navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, DVD playback, an HD Radio tuner, smartphone app access, and much more. And a wealth of connections allows you to enjoy music from your thumb drive or iPod, as well as songs or files on disc.
Combined with Kenwood's super-fast processor and Garmin's navigation software, maps will load with impressive speed. The DNX719VHD uses NAVTEQ's traffic info to ensure that you have up-to-the-minute information at your finger tips. The receiver provides automatic rerouting around congestion and road closures in major metro areas. And in areas that aren't covered, it uses historical traffic data to calculate the fastest routes. You'll see realistic representations of interchanges on the big screen, so you'll know exactly what to look for as your next turn approaches. Features like lane guidance and junction view help keep you on the right path during tricky maneuvers in unfamiliar territory.
With the addition of Kenwood's KCA-IP202 audio/video cable (required and sold separately), you can connect your iPhone to the DNX719VHD and control your Pandora Internet Radio stations from the receiver's touchscreen, with stations and ratings right at your fingertips. You also get control over your iPhone's Aha Radio app. Android or BlackBerry users are covered too. You can enjoy Pandora control through the receiver's Bluetooth features. The DNX719VHD supports the Serial Port Profile (SPP), which means you can use the receiver's interface to control Pandora when your compatible Android or BlackBerry device is linked up.
If your VW doesn't have factory Bluetooth system then DNX719VHD has you covered by an industry leader in Bluetooth technology. It features built-in Bluetooth connectivity by Parrot. This allows you to take and calls make without having to touch your phone, so you can keep your hands on the steering wheel. You'll hear your caller over the car's speakers, while the built-in microphone picks up your voice crystal clear. You can also stream music from your compatible mobile device to the Kenwood receiver.
Kenwood is all about system expansion. You can add a SiriusXM satellite radio tuner SXV200V1 (required and sold separately) to the DNX719VHD and access a huge variety of sports, news, entertainment, and commercial-free music that satellite radio gives you. The DNX719VHD also has a dedicated connection for a rear-view camera, so you can see if there are any kids or obstacles behind you as you back out of a tight parking space or your driveway. If you're a true audiophile and are looking to add amps and subs, there are three sets of 4-volt preamp outputs available, including a dedicated subwoofer output with level control and low-pass filter.
You can watch DVDs on the 6.95" screen while parked, and this receiver will work with your VW factory rear seat entertainment system. You can also use the rear audio/video output to add rear seat screens — then use the dual zone feature to let your passengers watch movies in back while you listen to music up front.
In most Volkswagen vehicles you can use PAC SWI-PSv1 or the Axxess ASWC (required and sold separately) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to the Kenwood stereo. Simply connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular vehicle and the headunit and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls.

Factory look, aftermarket features
This unit looks exactly like a factory unit. The texture and color of the dash match. It has different colors but I chose the red one to go with the ac controls and the red is an exact match. They really did their homework when designing this thing. The buttons have a nice crisp click to them and the touch screen works way better than my app radio 3. This is a plug and play unit. No wiring harness, antenna adapter, or bezel required so DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE. Everything is in the box. The harness that's included comes prewired and simply connects to the factory connection and the other end to the back of the unit. In terms of features, well, it's fairly basic at this price. But I was looking for the look, not features. If your goal is factory look, get this radio. If you're looking more towards features and don't mind a bezel and an aftermarket look, I'd buy a different one. Obviously you'd be paying this much to have the factory look and they've definitely nailed it.
