My car has 5x7 speakers; will the NSP68 fit?

Yes! In the car audio world, 5x7 and 6x8 are almost always interchangeable. The NSP68 bracket has multiple mounting holes specifically designed to fit both patterns perfectly.

Why should I buy a 6x8 instead of converting to a 6.5" round?

Stick with the 6x8. The oval shape has more cone surface area than a 6.5" round, which means more air movement and better bass response without needing custom mounting plates.

Will these work with my Ford or Mazda factory wiring?

The speakers have standard terminals. To make it "Plug & Play," grab a set of Ford/Mazda wiring adapters. This prevents you from having to cut your car's original wires during the swap.

How do I wire these to a 4-channel amp without mixing up the signals?

If you get them mixed inside the amp, your "Fade" and "Balance" controls will be backward. Label your wires at both ends before you zip-tie everything shut.

Is the tweeter "low profile" enough to fit behind my factory grille?

Yes. The NSP68 is designed for "zero-protrusion." This means the tweeter won't poke out and hit your door panel, making it a safe buy for tight, factory-stealth installs.

Why is the red light on my amp coming on after installing these?

That’s Protection Mode. Check for a "short to ground"—ensure a stray wire strand isn't touching the metal of your door. Even one tiny copper hair touching the car's frame will trip the amp’s safety sensor.

What should I do if the NSP68 magnet hits my window glass?

This happens in shallow doors. You can use a 1/2-inch plastic spacer ring to "pop" the speaker out toward the door panel. Just make sure you still have enough room for the factory door skin to snap back on.

Great upgrade speakers!

I installed four of these in my wife's Mercury Mountaineer to replace the factory speakers The sound is much better than the factory set and actually sound as good or better than any other 6x8's I have ever heard. Bass response is pretty good and clean for rock and country music and the tweeter sounds great, nice and crisp as it should be. Overall I am very happy with the sound and performance. I would buy these again without a second thought in the future for factory replacements and even on a small amp. I have these running directly off of a Soundstream VR-650B head unit.

Great for the price

I recently installed four of these in my 94 mazda with an Alpine head unit and they sound as good if not better than speakers I've payed double for. The bass response is surprising for only running off my head unit and the highs are nice and crisp. The vocal frequency is where these speakers really stand out. I would by the N series from NVX again and again. simply a great speaker at an absurdly low price.

Absolutely Terrific Value!

I installed 4 of these speakers in my '93 T-Bird! You couldn't ask for a better price on these 80 watt speakers. I think the quality is better than the original JVC 70 watt speakers. Well done Sonics, and thanks for the excellent deal on these speakers.

2014 F-150 speaker upgrade

I ordered direct replacement speakers from Sonic Electronix for my 2014 F-150, I just wanted something more reliable then the factory speakers, I purchased the NVX-NSP68 install was simple and they sound great. Sonic's website was user friendly and shipping was on time.

Happy with purchase

Overall great product for the buck. Much better sound quality over stock speakers. Didn't notice a difference in sound quality between stock and nvx until adding a 300 watt amp to power 4 of these speakers in my 06' ford explorer. I installed a Clarion XC1410Compact 4-channel amplifier — 50 watts RMS x 4, and it woke the speakers up. Sounds great and gets loud. No problems so far. Matched these speakers with two 10inch kicker cvr102 subs 400rms dvc wired at 2ohms with a 600 watt amp. Happy with these speakers, I would buy nvx again.
