March 30, 2014 - My Review of the Rogue Radar Mount R2011-103-WHIST-CYL-RM
Rogue Radar Mount R2011-103-WHIST-CYL-RM
This Rouge Radar Mount holds my Whistler CR90 radar firmly and I feel it is worthy investment. I received my radar detector mount March 28, 2014, and it works very well. The mount is a sturdy light-weight metal and holds my radar securely. I prefer not to use suction-cups to hold my detector onto the windshield. Look-around for bargains, clearance. Companies will throw-a-bone and include a mount to attach to the stem of your rear-view mirror. Two things: 1) make sure the mount WILL PROPERLY FIT the rear-view mirrors cylindrical shape stem (research, call the company, etc.); 2) if mount not included, buy it separately.
In conclusion, I consider this mount a value-buy worth looking into. The mount is a well made product, and serves its designed purpose, I give a five star for its practical application and cost.

Easy to mount and adjust, installed in a 2014 chevy volt using a Whistler CR90 detector, hard wired so that there are no visible wires, doesn't vibrate when driving, great design

Suction cup mounts don't stay put and visor clip mounts are only good if you don't plan to use your sun visor. This is the best detector mount I've ever had and I've tried and owned many over the years, even going so far as to make my own modified clip mount to attach to the headliner of one vehicle. This provides a clean installation look and keeps the detector up and out of the line of sight, while still being easy to see with your peripheral vision.
Pretty easy to install and very easy to adjust once attached to the mirror rod. Makes the detector look like it was factory installed and with the longer dash shelves of newer vehicles, it put the detector within easy reach for adjusting the volume or changing settings without having to stretch and lean to get to it.
Only suggestion I'd offer is for the detector mount to utilize a ball pivot mount so you could more easily adjust the final position to level and square off the detector, other than that this is far superior to clips and suction cups!

I have another radar detector in my P.U. with a suction mount & that unit bounces worse than a super ball. I mounted the Rogue on my mirror & my radar detector doesn't budge! Very easy to mount to the mirror also. Makes the unit along with wires look more professional that a dash mount!

Whistler CR90 radar
The Whistler CR90 Portable Radar Detector is in my budget for realistic affordability. I received my detector March 21, 2014, and it works as well as any radar in its price range. I am not a speed-demon but on-the-side-of-caution, I am grateful when I do need it. There are many price-ranges that do determine a radar’s performance. Simply stated, “The more advance technology a company puts into its product will cost more”. With that said, I choose to use my budget as a ruler to determine the best radar for me.
I have read forums by customers and professional critics about radar detection quality. Given all the environmental conditions and variables driving conditions, the consensus is “If the radar detects too late - - than it did not do its job (talking about detectors under $200)”. For those with a need-for-speed then the best up-to-date technologically advanced radar is worth the price. For me, The Whistler CR90 meets my needs for city and interstate driving (even with false alarms, etc., it is in my price-range). This radar is up-dateable via USB with a PC; but not for Mac users like myself.
For what-reasons, the majority of radar detectors are non-compatible with Mac for updates. My get-around is to use someones PC to periodically update my detector. Last but-not-least suction cups to hold my detector onto the windshield; my preference is no suction-cups. Look-around for bargains, clearance. Companies will throw-a-bone and include a mount to securely attach to your rear-view mirror.
Two things: 1) make sure the mount WILL PROPERLY FIT the rear-view mirrors cylindrical shape stem (research, call the company, etc.); 2) if mount not included, buy it separately.
In conclusion, I consider this Whistler CR90 a value-buy worth looking into (also I got the Rogue Radar Mount R2011-103-WHIST-CYL-RM). Both the radar and the mount are well made products, and because they both serve the designed purpose, I give a five star for its practical application and cost.
