Build quality was an issue
Bought this sub a couple months ago and just thought id write a review on it now since i just came across it while looking for another subwoofer, and well i only had it for about a week not sure exact amount of watts it was getting but it was around the 500 watts that its rated for it was on a fosgate t400-2 in a 1 cubic foot box tuned to about 33 hz all gains were set with smd dd1 and crossovers with smd cc1...when i first installed it it was nice it sounded great i was actually going to buy another one but after about a week the spider detached from the coil former idk maybe it was bad glue but i ended up taking it apart since i had no use for it once i did i noticed the coils were both still good so the only con i have about this sub is that it could have been built better ive never had that happen to me before so this is a first for me...i would recommend this sub if only that was not an issue

In a 240sx I used to run a 12" alpine type X, but there goes the trunk and I wanted something smaller. Running this 8" sub off a1800 watt soundstream amp at 1 ohm on a modified bazooka tube ( 1" spacer & lots of grinding). Biggest 8" sub Iv'e seen. After breaking it in Sound quality is very nice. Handles lows very well and hits very hard for a 8" sub. I would say it could hang with a 10" CVR. For the price you wont be dissapointed, best bang for your buck.

i own one of these little 8s and have it hooked up to a memphis audio mc1.500 class D and thats 500watts RMS into 1ohm the sub takes the beating from this amp.. the box im using is ported 0.51cf (so smaller than recommended) and it still sounds good for an 8.. i do recommend this sub because it produces lows without any distortion and is vibrating my lancer apart.i was shocked to hear this little monster hit these notes like it dose.. definitely a good buy for the price. this is something you expect from SoundStream. thanks

found this helpful. Was good intel it split open
the whole cone was slit clean from the spider as if it had been cut in half bye a samurai warrior. my amp i was running was a 250 watt rms terminator amp it was pounding good and deep intel snoop came on the track. the woofer did not hold up i would not own this subwoofer or buy one. rest in piece paycheck. i loved the woofer for a solid 6 months. in fact i was in love with its deep tones and deeep bass. i played it hard for 6 months strait never had problems when is was on my boss 3000 watt amp.( fyi boss 3000 watts is actually like 150 watts lol) . but my mtx 250.1D blew it in a jiff
