Slams Low Bass LOUDLY
Neither Sonicelectronix or American Bass websites show the internal volume required for an enclosure of the VFL8D4.
I ended up experimenting with four different sizes of enclosures until I finally got it correct.
The external size of my current box (for one sub) is: 14.25" W X 18" H X 10" D.
The MDF is .75"-thick..
The measurements equal 1.035 total box volume (for one VFL8D4 sub).
Compared to the older XFL's dating back to the turn of the century, these VFL's do not have those pesky-terminals which break off from long excursion during high-hitting bass notes.
For the VFL8D's, lower-sub-bass hits extremely loud (at approximately 30 hz for the enclosure I designed).
I do not recommend using these for music that has boomy bass (i.e. 55-hz and up [hard rock from the 1970's]); otherwise droning in the enclosure may occur and the subs seem to sound rather poorly.
They shine in rap and electro-styled music.
On a side note, my three subs are powered by a Kicker CX1200.1 amp, wired into my rear-factory radio speakers.
The three 4-ohm dvc subs are in parallel at 2.7 ohms for the final connection to the amp.
No extra battery is used in my audio system, but my 2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon has a 150-amp alternator + heavy-duty battery.

So I just bought a 04 tsx Aspec 6 speed w/navi and being a 04 the information was lacking in the stereo area like track name and album cover being displayed so I took on the task of modding the radio...... this is the sub I opted for cause I didnt wana take up the whole trunk and damn what a lil beast this thing is,even though its a 8 its a hi excursion sub and hits all the notes beautifuly. Running the stock unit threw a ppi dsp -88r wich I also bought here is a tuners dream , check it out. People always ask what I have pounding in the back and when I show the thay are in awe. Spend ur money on this or more on 2 10s or a 12 and ull be upset when I pull up with my 8 in Jackie Chan mode.

Everyone thinks I'm rockin 12's in the ride and can't believe the Power comin out of that thing. Now everyone is looking into 8's. Want 1 or 3 more for my 2019 build.
