Again Pioneer

Value. No doubt best in its class granted low power but no doubt they sound great within that range.
Look and Design. Nothing crazy...well for Pioneer. The the yellow fiber cone and how when the light hits it it give a different type of glow back unlike most polypropylene cones. The covers are plane Jane but that's the point to be causal. Tweets beautiful.
Durability. I don't know yet. Most Pioneer products last a long time so I'm assuming with the luck my for father's and I have had with Pioneer products they should hold up just fine.
Features/Ease of Installation. I like them they offer alot in the box for features and ease of installation. The crossover has +3, 0 & -3db switch which helps with tuning only downside about the crossover it comes Prewired so you don't have the terminals like the old TS-D1720C had. On the plus they offer easy tweeter mounts one in which allows the tweets to be angled towards you.
Overall AGAIN another Great product by Pioneer only down side is power wish they took a little more than the 60w rms but still they sound great. The crossovers also not having terminals kinda sucks but they did so because these are alot smaller than the older TS-D1720C. These Speakers are Very smooth not too too sharp but if you need it sharper the +3db switch on the crossover helps alot and the midrange/midbass is also great. Definitely get both midrange and some thump out of these speakers.

Changed for the worse

I owned the 5 1/4" set, old version. Put 'em in a Taurus with the big tweets in the sail panels. Amazing quality, they loved acoustic music, classical, jazz, detailed stuff. They didn't like to be turned up, although I tried to apply the HU's high-pass crossover, it didn't seem to matter. Powered by a first-gen Alpine KTP-445. The speakers I'm reviewing, however, seem to want more power, and they kinda thump in treated doors. Fed with my Ridgeline's factory deck, they sound like little door subs. I'm sure crisper bass would be had with more power, and I suspect the midbass would thrive active @ about 100w RMS, but I hate the crossover points and the tweeters. I'm sure all this ear fatigue is coming from the highs. Compared to the old version, these have worse tweeters and better low end. Distorted guitars, cymbals, and other high-range tones make me turn down, although they seem to be breaking in and I've got maybe three hours of time on them. I don't really love EQ'ing things and would prefer a more natural-sounding driver. But, I'm going to try them with an Alpine HU, and aforementioned KTP-445 amp. I'm curious to see how the sound changes if I move the relatively high x-over point of 4800hz down to around 3k or below, and maybe different tweeters, at which point I just shell out for Image Dynamics components and ebay the Pioneers off... BUT I digress. The install was really easy and they give you goodies, like a mounting ring/plate that adds like 3/4" to your door and works with a buncha different makes. I hate the attached leads on the x-over but it IS tiny. I had to cut and splice mine to get the tweeters in my dash. These do sound authoritative pounding rap and seem to favor slickly produced recordings over anything natural or more rough.

Pioneer TS-D1730C

These components are awesome with pioneer amp, wired the LC7I processor, factory radio sounds great

Solid entry level set for basic applications

I was looking for the best entry level component set at around $100, and these fit the bill. Well made, quality product, that doesn't break the bank. It also isn't going to sound like Focals so don't over sell these to others either. But for an upgrade from factory, powered by a decent amp, these do the job just fine for the price.

PIONEER TS-D1730C REVIEW.....

I can't "honestly" review the product because I haven't installed it in the vehicle yet. What I can comment about the seller is; seller processed and shipped the product very quickly. Seller also described and photographed the product very well and what I received is what I EXPECTED TO GET. I am sure the product will be great. Having been a long time Pioneer Customer for over 20 years, you get a lot of bang for your buck. Pioneer car audio receivers are always packed with innovative features and technologies. Many of those features found on "high end" car stereo features. Especially Pioneer speaker technology. Lots for the money.
