much more than fun
i bought an akai ewi usb in august 2011, although it does not replace a real wind instrument(but really comes close) for me, living in an apartment, it is the best, like any instrument, it needs minimum setting up/tweaking and lots of practice, this thing does sound real good through my pc and with headphones(no need for a high-end sound card), if your pc speakers sound cheap, do not expect the ewi to sound like a real sax... i highly recommend this ewi usb if you want to jam at home.

No big deal.
I have mixed feelings about this thing. I thought it could have been a lot more ergonomic, and not try to imitate something it isn't. I am not a musician, nor will I ever be. I also learned that living 45 years as a smoker doesn't help you blow a wind instrument, so I just haven't used the thing. I bought it out of curiosity more than anything, and am thinking of sell it. I thought the software a little non-intuitive to set up. I didn't have much fun.
