great drum kit!

I have played many electronic drum sets, and personally, I like Alesis about the best. The DM10 Studio kit has sturdy construction, the control module is fairly simple to use (with a little practice), and it has a lot of great features... all at a very reasonable price. I like that all of the drum pads are dual zone pads, and you have complete freedom to arrange and position all of the parts as you please. Contrary to what the prices tell you, I also like the rubberized cymbal pads a LOT more than the more expensive alloy cymbals. The rubber ones get a ton less cross-talk, especially between the zones of each cymbal. In a quieter setting, like a church, the strike of a stick on the alloys is also so loud that you can hear it over the cymbal sound in many cases. The kick drum pad is plenty large enough to accommodate a double beater, which is a feature that pointed me to this kit in the beginning. And, with over 1,000 sounds available, you have quite a range of stuff to select from in making your own (100 available) virtual kits. Cons? About the only things that disappoint me a little bit are the lack of steel drums in the sounds (there are some good reggae sounds, but no steels... seems like there should be at least some) and I can't seem to get the snare pad to be as rigidly mounted as I would like. But, I am a heavy hitter, so take that for what it's worth. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this product.

Awesome Product

Great product. Real bang for the buck. Alot of tweaking with the module and figurung out what it really can do, the drumkits sound awesome. Love it. I sound like a pro in the studio. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Great drums: very versatile and at a good price.

The Alesis DM10 Studio is my first electronic drum kit, i received it 2 weeks ago and after some fine tuning with sensitivity, placement and the mixer the results are surprising. It shows they went the distance to sample every kit to reproduce an accurate sound, you just need a descent pair of headphones to appreciate the small details. As far as the feel and bounce goes the adjustable tension of the "real head" pads DOES make a noticeable difference.

Overall, these are high quality as good as the bigger brands but cost a third of the price without felling like it's any less than the others. It was ordered from Sonic Electronix, delivered to my door for cheaper than buying it here in Canada!!
