A great solution for small home studio use.

I'm an avid musician and wanted to get myself a small set up for some recording. I was doing research and ended up buying an Audio Technica AT2020 and AT2021 along with the Alesis MultiMix 4 USB.

I use the mixer with FL Studio as my DAW. The USB interface works very well and with very little latency (using ASIO4ALL & FL studio).

The mixer has two mic/line channels (w/ phantom power) and one stereo line-in channel is perfect for any recording I do on my own. Although there is no line-in for the multimix 4 USB, connecting the interface with to a laptop via USB enables all sound from the laptop to be played through the main & headphone outputs on the mixer, which I found was a very clean and neat solution.

I find that the mixer works as it is marketed, with a very nice job done with the USB integration. I wish there were mutes and solos for each channel, but other than that, the mixer is pretty darn good.

The build of the mixer is pretty sturdy, however I don't know what might happen if I dropped it off of a table. I think it'd be alright, as the casing is metal and it is pretty tough. I would say the mixer is not built to withstand a large fall.

Recommended for it's solid 2 mic-ins and great USB integration.

Exactly What I Needed

This mixer was inexpensive and was just what I needed. I've had it for several months and it is still working the same as the day I installed it. I've had no problems with it and would reccommend it to anyone needing an inexpensive USB connect mixer for casual use.
