Excellent cheap speaker!
Really surprised by these speakers (used to do a lot of custom car audio). I bought them locally at a Boxing Day sale after I heard them. Picked up two sets for my winter beater and they sound absolutely fantastic with my Pioneer DEH-X8500BS head unit. It's not often a cheap set of speakers can sound this good. Impressed!

Alpine "E" series 6.5 purchased 4. Awesome.
These door speakers are great, especially when paired with a Kicker 200.4 amplifier (50 watts per channel at 2 ohms). The speakers are rated at 40 w RMS, so I followed the advice i was given by a pro installer. Make sure the amp is about 10 watts RMS more than the rms handling of the speakers. We can always turn down the gain.
My installer told me that if you are on a budget, go with Kicker or Alpine ONLY.
Lastly, My 2x10" sub box with Kicker subs and the Kicker 600.1 amp (327 watts RMS) is fantastic in my Optima. I can't wait to get the rest done today.

Low price, great sound!
2010 regular cab GMC needed a more than just a radio. Put these in the doors to replace factory speakersthat were totaly dead. Too many choices out there, figured Alpine was as good a choice as any. Another gut call that went well. Very nice sound!!

They're ok for the price..
You get what you pay for. I've had these speakers for about 4 months, and they are starting to die. I have them running off an amp that provides 40 watts to each speaker, as needed, and I can't turn my music up over half way without getting distortion. it's starting to hurt my ears.
Over all - I'd say they are much clearer than stock speakers, but they don't get too loud. I'd recommend these speakers if you're not planning on powering them with an amp.
Time to upgrade to the SPS-610

Clean and crisp.
Quality built, great sound with deck output. Sized small, barely fit door cutouts in jeep liberty.

I like it
A lot louder then I expected, I matched them with the rms of my head unit and they handle loud playing very well, might even get some to go into my doors also. Would recommend.

Great sound for a great price.
I got these on sale with a pair of the matching type E 6x9 to go in the front doors of my 97 civic. They sound great although i had to do a little modifying to make them fit in the doors but this is my own fault for not checking the fitment guide first.
These sound like they cost alot more than they actually did. I would recommend these for anybody on a budget

Good Buy
These are about the best all around replacement speaker for the price, if your wanting a good value and better than factory for a great price, these are it. If you want high end sound, pay the high end price and look elsewhere.

Great value for the money, and very versatile.
I purchased these speakers over 2 and a half years ago, as replacements for the front door speakers in my '07 Corolla. They were, $40 back then, and now that they're only around $30, they are an even better deal.
The highs and mids are really clear for a speaker in this price range, and the high sensitiviy level (92db) means that they sound good and get pretty loud, even just being run off of a headunit.
I have powered these speakers with my stock radio (about 12 watts RMS/channel), two different JVC head units (20 and 22 watts RMS) and now with a Clarion amplifier that is feeding them 50 watts RMS! These speakers have held up well for 2.5 years and can safely be overpowered a little bit with an external amp.
The bass is a lacking with just headunit power, but with a little amp, these Alpines get a lot louder, clearer and pack a surprising punch for how small and light they are. I would recommend these speakers to anyone who needs a cheap replacement and wants great quality, especially if you already have a subwoofer in your system to handle the real bass.
