Good Unit
This is my first radar detector purchase since the early 1990's. So far about 500 miles of use and it has been pretty accurate at detecting active radar in police cars. It like any detector does detect alarm systems like many banks have during your daily travels but a simple push of the button marks it. For normal highway driving the stores for the most part are far enough away that it is not a problem. I was surprised that for the most part all detector are the same size but I suppose the antennas in them dictate the size of the detector. My old uniden from the early 90's is smaller than a pack of smokes, but good luck using one of those now a days, the thing just beeps the entire way down the road.

Good detector Pro 300 has better range
Overall good radar detector but not as good as Pro 300 in range, Beltronics Pro 300 more of a raw radar detector with less features and filtering than Beltronics Pro 500. Beltronics no longer makes radar detector, no idea if they will repair older models or honor customers warrant? Would choice Beltronics Pro 500 because of the extra features and you can lock out false alarms.
