SR60s Worth It? Yes...

I have owned several Nissans over the years with the Bose stereo and just recently have conducted a project to upgrade a Nissan without the Bose. My intention was to try and recreate the Bose sound quality as best as possible without going broke. I went to several car audio retailers in my area to audition several speaker manufacturers and the Boston Acoustics seemed to sound the best. I also liked the idea that I could get these speakers from Sonic at a much lower cost than $400.00 retail. The installation did take a little time, however these speakers are well worth $190.00. They are clean sounding, have crisp sound through the high/midrange, and do a good job of producing lows for a 6.5”. I am using an Alpine front end with the Alpine KTP-445 Plug N Play Amp which puts out 45 Watt/Ch. These speakers definitely needed the extra power. I am very happy with these speakers and will be installing a 10” Boston Acoustics sub in the near future to complete this system.

Great For Critical Listening!

The SR60 component speakers are some of the best speakers that I have come across for higher end car audio. They handle generous amounts of power well and produce a clear and crisp sound stage with a variety of music.

These speakers are mounted in the stock locations: front door and dashboard. In addition I have Boston Acoustic SC60 coaxial speakers installed in the rear doors. These speakers are powered by a Rockford Fosgate T400-4 amplifier which pushes ~70 watts to each corner.

In addition, I have another Rockford Fosgate mono amplifier powering a P3 subwoofer of the same brand. My Eclipse head unit with 5 volt pre-amp outputs controls all crossover frequencies and with it's built-in parametric equalizer and auto time alignment feature it produces an awesome sound stage that will blow most people away.

These speakers are an excellent value, and I have found them to be superb in their musicality. I highly recommend them for the discriminating listener who doesn't want to spend thousands on car speakers. I personally have installed several car speaker brands into my vehicles through the years. Some of which are MB Quart, Nakamichi, Dynaudio, and Boston Acoustics. These SR60s are some of the best. Enjoy!

Great sound!

Great speakers for the money. Could not be happier with them or Sonic.

SR 60

Good sounding speakers. At first they were a little on the bright side but they warmed up after their break in. Have the tweeters set -4db installed in a 04 Silverado.

Fantastic!

I was a little hesitant to pick these up after reading the reviews on this site, but my budget was under $200 for a set so I was not willing to grab the Pro's and I am glad I went with my gut because these speakers sound fantastic in my very small car. I only have these components for speakers in my 2 seater (I pulled the rear 3" out) and the sound is amazing, crystal clear highs, and decent mids, to my ears they are a great sounding speaker set. I had a 5 year old Infinity Reference pair before these and to my ear, these sound much warmer to me.
I have a Pioneer digital amp feeding 75 watts to each component set and they crank! very detailed sound stage.
My only complaint is the crossovers could use a redesign IMO, they are HUGE and setting them up is a little different, but after tucking them in behind my center console all is well.

Highly recommended by my ears.

very clear

SR60 have great tweeters and exception highs but lack midbass like most of Bostons components. If you have a good sub I would highly rec. Going with these or the pros (which don't have bass either) but if you dont have a good sub I would rec. going with the JL C5's which have great midbass

BA SR60

I have had these for about 6 months now and are very pleased with these speakers. Good sound with the right amplifier. DO NOT buy a cheap amp to put on these speakers! They need good quality amperage. The only downside to these speakers were for my vehicle, I had to reuse my factory brackets because the brackets that came with the set did not work! A little pricey for the quality.

Awesome Speakers

I have had Bostons in three of my auto's and in my theatre room. They never disappoint! Definitely recommend these speakers. Not too 'tingy or extreme highs', more realistic and smooth sound.

Nice sounding speakers

Boston has always made quality products, and the SR60s are no exception. High quality construction, good design, adequate included accessories. The crossovers are quite large and take a bit of thought as to where to put them. Nice adjustability in the crossovers between the tweeter attenuation options and the SQ1/SQ2 jumper. The tweeters are large, and the included housings require a decent amount of space to install them. Instead, I cut out some wood shims and epoxied them to the tweeters themselves, then used some industrial double-sided adhesive foam tape to mount them in my doors for a low-profile installation. They work just fine. Sound quality is crisp and very clear. Woofers take some time to break in, so expect minimal bass for the first dozen hours or so. All in all, a great system for less than $200. Definitely comparable to components costing much more.
