If you have one of the compatible clarion systems, you need this cable.

If you dropped the cash to get a high end clarion navigation system, why would't you spend the extra 40 bucks to get the audio/video cable. if you have an iphone this is absolutely essential and it charges your phone as well.

Good stuff

This is a great upgrade to the original remote that came on our 2001 Searay. It's super easy to read and all the songs are displayed (pandora or other available) I didn't read the size before I decided to buy it. If your upgrading as I did, you will need to enlarge the hole in the dash. I think it was worth it and would buy it again. Packaging was done well and no issues with the unit.

This unit works great. It looks good too. I have two complaints. First, the display has a polarized lens and you have to lift your polarized sunglasses to read it .(all smart boaters wear polarized sunglasses) Second, I do frequent night boating and the display is blindingly bright at night and this attracts bugs also. It needs a dimmer control or a flip down tinted (nonpolarized) lens. I hope Clarion R&D reads this. The infrared remote control receiver is great so I don't have to point and click at the head unit which on my 190 Sea Ray is in the glove box. Overall I'm very satisfied with the unit.

Great marine remote.

Replaced an older Clarion remote that was much smaller and had less functions with this one. This works gread and I highly recommend it.

Installed with Clarion head unit last winter. Easy to install and works Great.

Good Value

Remote works as advertised. It would be nice to be able to dim the display as it is somewhat blinding at night if it is mounted on the helm.

Installed the new remote and it works as described with no issues, yes I would recommend this product to others. it is compatible with the Clarion M309 receiver.

For some reason the AUX channel does not work well... It has a lot of static. Old radio worked ok.

Awesome Head Unit

I installed this in my Cabin of my boat. Added a wired remote at the helm as well. The unit is awesome. I have had many head units in my life in this one is by far the best one. Very easy to use and very durable. The display is beautiful. This thing will hook up to just about anything. I hooked my iPhone 4s and was able to play Pandora or my iTunes library. Okay here is the part that I have never experienced in a head unit. I can be playing iTunes or Pandora turn the boat off to go grab a lunch turn the boat on and the head unit starts up, wakes up my iPhone and starts playing right were I left off.

Great product with sharp looks.

The Clarion MW1 is my favorite wired marine controller. The buttons have a firm, crisp feel to them, the display shows what playing on your iPod when connected via USB, and the chrome trim ring makes it "pop" visually.

CLARION CMV1 and APX490M 4 Channel Amplifier

I purchased a CMV1 for a marine application aboard a 38’ Deadrise workboat; I read the pros and cons before the purchase and elected to buy based on everything Clarion claimed the unit would do and the back-up information from the Sonic Electronix Customer Service Team. Everything was self installed along with a 4 Ch AMP driving two front speakers and a subwoofer all Klipsch outdoor units. The AM/FM receptions is good from an amplified car antenna, iPOD, iPhone, HTML interface is great [charges, displays, programs, etc], CDs & DVDs are just like using a component entertainment system, have not used the HD or satellite radio capability. We use the CMV1 as the DVD video source to view a Samsung 27” TV powered by a 300 amp inverter off my 12v house battery bank. The unit was pricey, but performs very well; I could not find a similar single unit component to do everything the CMV1 does. Cons: the installation diagram is vague and Clarion offers little assistance. When the battery bank is down to 12V the unit will not turn on; the face back light blinks 3 second cycles and there is no explanation as to what it was going on. After some trial and error I came up with the low voltage issue. I suggest Clarion include this in their Installation/User Manual.
We bought both the CMV1+Amp through Sonic Electronix: great customer service, answered all my queries and UPS shipping was uneventful.
