Love everything about this little thing. It beeps like crazy and picks up a lot of ambient signals from banks and door sensors in highway mode and city mode, doesn't matter. but this just means it is very sensitive. Plain and simple, I drive fast, not reckless, but speed limits are low in RI. 10 - 15 over is common for everyone. I would say that in 5 months of having this thing, it has undoubtedly saved me from 4 speeding tickets. When i say undoubtedly, I mean an unmarked random cop car, like a dark blue chevy impala has been stalking me on the highway and I would have never known until it pulled me over otherwise. I have done a lot of research for radar detectors and this cobra is the best value by far, and Sonic is the cheapest place to get it.

I'm not sure that this radar detector works as advertised. i bought this one 3 weeks ago for going to Arkansas from teaxas.
it works but not far way. it works very close even you can see the cops, and then sudently it beep like crazy. i don't know it works very good or not. but when it alarm at level 1 after that 1 second i saw the police...
is it too late ??????? i don't know
and after that it alarm like crazy and going to level 5 very quick

Very nice, easy too use, easy to understand different signals, clear display, long detect range. Over all a great device. The one I bought before this one got me a speeding ticket in one week. Six months on this one and doing fine. It does not give a free pass to speed but ......

It works, but.....

I'm either guessing the cops in my area don't use laser or radar detectors but during the 3 months I have been using this it has only picked up 1 Police car on the side of the road. But the issue I have is that it picks up so many other signals from banks and things like that. I've probably had a false reading 3 times a day. Haven't gotten a speeding ticket yet but that's mostly just luck. You're decision to purchase but it just wasn't worth it to me. 1 cop in 3 months vs hundreds of false signals. I can say that it works though.

Great product and value

It has all of the features that help me when I am traveling. It has kept me out of trouble on several occasions. It runs its own status checks every time it is in the on possition.

Cobra XRS 9965

The only thing that exceeded the performance of the Cobra XRS 9965 was the customer focus of Sonic Electronix. As good as the unit is does not match Sonic's dedication to customer satisfaction.

Nice product. Very satisfied. The only problem is to defirinitiate the types of alerts. For example KA alert means what type of radar. The instruction describes the types of waves but it would be nice to see the pictures of the types of radars for particular alerts.
