Good value for the money

I bought some of these aobut a year ago. I originally had some JL 12W3-v3 in a ported enclosure per JL specs (1.75 cubic ft per chamber, tuned at about 35 hz). Sound quality was awesome but I found that I was wanting a little more in the lower frequencies. I was gonna go to W6s but I had always wanted to try Earthquake out. Im glad I did. I dropped a pair of these into the enclosure and BOOM. These drop quite a bit lower than the W3s did and the sound quality was good. I had 2 JL 500/1 v2 running these boad boys and spent a considerable amount of time tweaking the amps to perfection only because Im constantly evaluating my settings for optimal performance. But after many genres of music, I finaly arrived at the settings that made these speakers display the raw brute force that I was seeking for when listening to some Lil' Wayne "Leather So Soft" as well as the smooth and refined response needed for Kenny G or The Whispers. It added the appropriate kick when I listened to Guns n' Roses "You Could Be Mine", Ted Nugent "Stranglehold" and Van Halen " Hot For Teacher". George Strait also sounded smooth and rich. As you can see I am a fan of all different genres of music and these speakers handled them all. I do have say that they require a LOT of power. Also they pair I used had an odd smell to them. It almost smelled like a burnt voice coil but it is something in the materials used. They are pressed pulp cones and tend to get a little hot but then again I never gave em a chance to cool off LOL!!! I ALWAYS HAD EM BANGIN!!! Mad xmax (excursion). Anyways, give these guys a try. They were built to get beat on and with a 5 year warranty you cant go wrong. And you will definitly need to go through and tighten up your car and you will need a couple of Dynamat trunk kits.

It does not get better than this

First I have to say thank you to Andrew in Tech Support because after blowing up 3 new subs I finally found the right sub woofer. Andrew told me about this company called Earthquake. Never herd of them. He was so confident that this was what I was looking for. He was right. All off there subs come with a factory 5 year warranty. Which means this company totally stands behind their products. I am using a Kicker ZX 500.1. Amazing pair up and a sealed box. Thanks again Andrew. Ok this sub produces a very very intense bass hit off a very wide range off frequency. With no distortion what so ever. If you are looking for true quality without spending huge amounts of money buy this sub. BUY BUY BUY and do not look back. Oh yea the excursion off this thing is mind blowing. You almost can not believe your eyes. Andrew you are the man. Thanks Dude.

Great Subs For Lows & By Far the bestAvalible for the price

I love these subs. I'm running 4 of these On a hifonics colossus over here in Australia and they are great, large enclosure 2.1 cubes per sub tuned to 34hz still hits 20hz easy and bangs at 50hz all day without getting hot on "800wrms" each, probably not after voltage but would be seeing a strong 600wrms. Flex is awsome but they will take a few weeks to wear in even at this power. Only 1 thing is the 8g terminals must have been designed around cheap 8g because mine is hard to get in.

Do not buy these woofers

I have owned these for 6 months before they blew on me they were good until then but they were hooked to run 800 rms each which earthquake sound Corp said would be fine. One day it hit a really low bass and they blew. My personal opinion don't buy these woofers.

CAN'T GO WRONG!

Earthquake is a solid company and yes they stand by their work with that 5 year warranty. My buddy had one of these and for 2 years I knew exactly what woofer I Was gonna get. This sub is exactly what I was looking for. Got a 1500w amp hooked up to it right now and it hits hard and provides that deep bass I was looking for (ported box). Def gonna get a stronger amp tho cause this thing def wants more juice. Overall earthquake is a solid company, quality is what they ware. You want a ballin woofer, grab a dbxi! "Bass, I love you" you will love showing off the flex this thing handles.

10 years +

all i can say is i have 4 of the dbx-12dr i bought them new in 2001 i have abused them like a redheaded step son and they are still hitting hard enough in my extended cab truck they give you the hick ups i want to buy new ones but i keep telling myself why there is nothing wrong with these ones they have been stepped on spilt on and even had the foam surround tore and still keep pounding so finally i told myself just do it so i think im going to replace them with the newer magma series and some new amps and just sell the ones i have till i told my wife and she said no we arent getting rid of them she wants them in her explorer so i guess that is what i will do si if you have any doughts on earthquake kick them to the curb you cant beat the sound for the durability at the price

Earthquake is GREAT

These subwoofers are so nice, im running two of them on a 3000w amp and they hit HARD. One problem I had though was fitting the subwoofer in the box because it was stock. Either way great subwoofer.
