Exceeded expectations

Took a chance on these after reading both positive & negative reviews. Purchased on the hunch that the negative reviews were a result of poor installation, & the hunch was right!...Paired with a Power Acoustik Razor RZ4 1200D amp, these little things put out more than enough bass! Incredible for the tiny sub that I was holding in one hand. So just 2 things to remember: 1. Be sure that you have the power to drive them!!! 2. I installed these in the rear doors of a 2005 Silverado extended cab....clearance was very close after cutting a little metal. You need at least 1 1/2" clearance for deflection in front of these. The only Con: Had to tighten everything down! They punch so hard, the door panel would vibrate. After using foam tape around all the clips, & a couple of other things which should have been done by Chevy in the first place, I am definitely pleased with the results!

Earthquake sws 6.5x

Bought 4 of these speakers expecting some good mid level bass, and was very disappointed in the amount of bass production. I would not suggest this product if your not running subs, you would be better off with quality 6x8 or 6x9's. If your running subs and are amping theses speakers then they are a cost effective choice. They need to be powered to really get the most out of them.

Earthquake Sound SWS-6.5X

These sound great and fit in small places. I am getting more of them.

I had one speaker I had to replace and service was great.

Great sound...Not so great quality

went through 2 pair in 6 months. These speakers sound incredible for a shallow 6.5 sub. I would say there is a quality control issue at the factory. Sonic Electronix gets ten stars for customer service! I quit shopping at other online audio stores. These guys are the best on every level!

One Worked the Other DOA

Purchased a set of these for a 2001 Wrangler to add a little mid bass. Out of the box they looked nice and extremely shallow, perfect for small spaces. Only issue that I experienced was that one out of the two was "stuck". No signs of damage to the speaker just wouldn't play. The box appeared to have been opened before as the plastic bags the subs were packaged in was in disarray and sticking out of the manufacturer's box slightly. Filed an RA to get them replaced out; hopefully get the replacements soon.

No hardware?

Fits nicely in the Scoche brackets I got for my Camry. These don’t come with ANY mounting hardware though? I have to go buy screws? Really dude?

Big kick tiny foot

I bought the 6.5 subs to replace my factory 6x9 subs and they are very loud and handle a lot of power. They are not a replacement for a true sub but they do a good job. If you are looking for a 6.5 to do real sub work look else where

Terrible!

Barely any sound comes out of these. I have cheap Pyle's that sound better.

Decent upgrade over stock.

A replaced the rear bose speakers in my 2001 SLK with these and am feeding them 50 watts RMS from a Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp. (after some minor cutting modifications of the stock mounts). I can say the low end had a noticeable improvement even though technically these are free air. For what I paid for them I'm happy. They don't pound, if you are looking for something that does you are going to be sorely disappointed, but they do quite well adding a decent amount of bass in a small stock areas if you give them some power.
