A lot of materual

Ordered this for my F Super Cab. I just wanted some material to apply to the inside of the door skins. It is a lot more material than I needed. Ford already has a small amount of sound dampening material. It did quiet the interior as expected. Great product. Came with no instructions. I just used some alcohol to clean the surface first.

Impressive product

This is a very stout, impressive product. It feels thicker than the famous competition and there is no smell to it. The sheets you get are sort of a long/narrow size, so they are great for running vertically up the doors and on the outer door skin. You'll definitely want a source of heat when working with these and really, there isn't a better value for the kind of product you are getting here.

NVX 12ft.

This is great material for a great price. Ive bought multiple nvx dampening products and have been pleased with everyone. This this easily applied with a nix roller and contains the perfect amount plus some to use on your doors.

Great for Rattles

Installed this stuff in my front doors and enough for the speaker area in the rear doors. It only slightly reduced the road noise in my car, but tightened up the bass and reduce rattles by a huge degree. This stuff is easy to install and can often be bought on sale.

Decent Dampening

I have had this for almost three months on my trunk lid and it has made a big difference. The rattling is not as bad as it used to be and it made a difference inside the car.

DON'T buy this if you live in arizona because the heat is too much for it.

NVX SDDK12

Excellent sound deadener for the money, very thick, no smell once applied, super tacky and sticks even to dirty surfaces. Applied in my doors it made a big difference inside the car, applied in the trunk the bass sounds much better inside but it didn't stop my trunk from flexing and sounding like it's about to explode. All in all excellent product and would definitely recommend!

NVX Sound Dampening Material

This was very easy to work with. It seems to be as good as any of the more well know and more expensive brands. Sound dampening at least the doors is necessary to seriously improve the quality of sound in your vehicle.

Best way to improve your system's sound

I was desperate to obtain a warmer, natural sound in the Rav4 I had just bought and did not want to lose any storage room. I had better speakers and small woofers installed in the rear speaker compartments but was still left with a tinny sound. Advised by the installers of the improvement benefits of this sound dampener, I had it installed and then came back for more installation in the rear doors and rear floor (I had the front doors and front floor fitted initially). I am very pleased with the improvement and it is definitely worth the investment.

Awesome Stuff

I installed four 6x9 speakers in my car recently and noticed that the doors and trunk were rattling. I was recommended this sound damping for my car. I found it very easy to install and it made a huge difference. I noticed a huge change from not only on the inside but on the outside of my car. I would recommend using this stuff if you have aftermarket speakers in your car. GREAT BUY!

Best Sound Deadener on Market!!

I had bought the NVX 12 sq. ft. sound deadener and WOW!!! this stuff works better than dynamat, fat mat, second skin, you name it, it is the best on the market, with the best price on Sonic electronix!!!! It is way thicker than its competition and simple to install. It completely deadens the sound in my doors! Major Improvement

I ordered the pack so I could take care of a few flex and crackle issues I had on my roof, I applied the material in about 100 degree heat and it stuck and stayed easily. I used the nvx roller to adhere it and it worked nicely. The difference was night and day, it's tighter, cleaner and harder hitting. I did 2 layers above the subs and 2 layers above front seats in my ext cab pickup. Im running 2 15s on 3000rms so you know if it worked for me, it will work for you

Good stuff easy to apply does the job

After an accident i decided to treat 2 doors with this product. The other 2 doors use the Raamatt product which is more expensive. Application and overall sound damping is very very close. Next vehicle I will likely do the entire job with NVX. It is amazing how far this stuff has come since the original tar no stick heat gun application stinky dynamat product back in the 1990's.

Very Thick

This kit wont take your stock stereo and turn it in to a pavement shaker but it will help kill rattles and really helps clean up the sound. Its thick and very sticky so installation could be done by hand (I just used fist pressure) to work it on to the panels and make sure they are clean! Its somewhat easy to contour to corners and edges once cut in to smaller pieces and best of all, no smell!

Overall, my road noise was still there (pretty sure you need to deaden your entire car for that be noticeable) but I did find my music with a lot of mid, such as metal, sounded MUCH better in my standard coax alpines.

For one this stuff is thicker. And half the price of Dynamat. I used the bulk kit in my car and loved it. Made a huge difference with road noise and unwanted rattles. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Good speakers

Bought these to drive off HU and was not happy. Decided to put in rear and put CDT coax in front and drive with Kenwood 4 ch. amp. Well once I drove them with amp I discovered why I did not like running off HU. They are power hungry and once I had enough power to them combined with CDT's in front they sound unreal! I have always liked JBL and continue to like them. Just make sure you drive these with amp and give them the juice they need. If you do this they will perform.

Nice Speaker, Just feed it some power to be happy.

I got this speaker to replace the cheap 2ohm rear speakers in my 2014 Nissan Frontier. Install was very easy, but had to cut factory wiring to connect. Make sure you get the polarity right so you do not have to remove the door panel again. Sound it very nice with factory radio, But add a amp like i did and you will be much happier.

Great Upgrade

I bought 2 pair of these to go in my 2010 Chevy Avalanche to replace the "premium" Bose speakers in the doors. I was told I needed 2ohm speakers if I panned on using the factory head unit because that's what the factory speakers were. So I tried them and they sound amazing. Much better than those Bose speakers. I will eventually put an amp to them in the future but for now the head unit is doing a good job and these speakers really made the music come alive.

Great sound

Great sounding speakers. Blows away the factory garbage. Factory speakers would distort at just over 3/4 volume. Needed more sound to compete with the pipes. Now I can hear the stereo over the pipes clearly. Don't forget the adapter rings when buying.

Great replacement for OE speakers

I bought the GTO 638 to replace rear door speakers in my 2006 Hyundai Tucson. I'm still using the factory head unit. These are a big improvement over the factory originals. Sound quality is much better. If and when I need a new head unit, I know I can depend on these speakers to handle it. I highly recommend these speakers and their price was reasonable.

Get ready to rock

I have owned these speakers for about a month now. I received them from my wife as a xmas present. Found a youtube video on how to install them in my Chevy Impala. The speakers sound great. Tremendous high end. The only downside that I have found so far is that these speakers do tend to draw some power to drive them. I am driving them with the stock Chevy radio and they need more power. I can't wait to buy some JBL 6x9 inch speakers for the rear deck and a new radio to drive them. Then my system will really ROCK!

these speakers when not amplified sounded really the same as my 40 dollar sony xplodes. i wasnt really impressed... UNTIL i got an amplifier to amp them up. Horrible

Have already replaced these speakers as they blew shortly after being installed. They were professionally installed and were not hooked up to too much power. I don't believe these speakers are not rated properly as far as the power they can handle.

Replacement Speakers

I purchased these as replacement door speakers in a 2001 Silverado. Perfect fit. With just the factory HU they sound great. The more power the better they sound. You will not be disappointed with these.

Kind of tinny sounding and highs tend to squeal off pitch. The mounting rings didnt work and they provided no cables in the package. Not worth the money in my opinion.

These are exactly what I expected from JBL with a very low price. At $55 the performance far exceeded the price. These were used as factory replacement front door speakers in a 2006 Impala and with the factory stereo, a JBL amp, and 2 6x9 JBL rear speakers. Great tweeters

The sound from these are amazing ....I had these with a 10w amp and a 60w rms amp ...it sounds good with 10 but 60 is fantastic ....soloooo clear ...you will not b disappointed!!!

these speakers are easy to install, with all hardware provided. They sound so much better than the stock speakers in my honda accord. The bass is pretty good for this size speaker but the highs are great!. Love them

JBL GTO638 vs polk audio dxi6500

I bought 2 pairs of these bad boys for my car. They sound awesome, great highs, enough of mids and you can get some low's but not too much. I have all 4 speakers hooked up to a 4 channel 1000 Watt amp at 125 rms for each channel. They are pretty loud when i set my volume at 15 when the radio can hold up to 50 on the radio. After 30 i get distortion. I'm really happy with my product and i do recommend these speakers and it will sound even sweeter with an amp. By the way i also own 2 pairs of the polk audio dxi6500 and i was disappointed how i spent more $$$ on them and they dont sound as good as these JBL. 2 tweeters went out on my polk audio's and i was stuck with only mids and horrible low's. they couldn't handle the power of the amp and it sounded lower than the JBL's.

I like this sound deadner, before I would use peel and seal in my doors but got fed up with the thiner material so I bought this. I have used it in different cars, family and friends and my own and I like how easy it is too cut, and apply. Its tacky but not tacky enough that if you accidently stick it in the wrong spot you cant remove it. I also use the nvx roller which makes it allot easier to apply then just by hand. Iv had mine installed in my doors and trunk for over two years in the northern cali weather and still running strong without that nasty odor people think deadner has. Over all i would reccomend it to anyone looking to improve their midbass and stop those trunk rattle vibrations at a good cost.

Fits my Jeep 95 orvis

I originally got the jbl gto 529's and they were to small... No where near the stock sound I had so I sent the 529's back for the GTO 638's!!! Some lucky person is getting an open box discount on a set of gto529's. The 638's are more than what I need to replace and exceed the oem premium infinity's.

Do yourself a favor if you are a novice. Make sure to call them to make sure there are adapter mounts and quick connector/adapters for the wiring. It makes the job way easier. I found that out when testing the 529's to see if they were going to be lound enough. Happy shopping

Easy fit

I have a 2000 Chrysler 300M (LX body) with Infinity II sound. This requires front door speakers that are 6 3/4", with 2 ohm resistance, and are expensive and hard to find. I used these JBL's and they bolted in with no hassles whatsoever. Sonic's pricing was very competitive, and delivery was fast, as promised.

Pretty good on factory amp

I have a 2010 Chevy Avalanche with the "premium" Bose factory system which is not so premium. I needed a 2 ohm 6 1/2 or 6 3/4 speaker to replace my door speakers cause that's what came factory so I went with these. Bought 4 (2 pair) for all my doors. Man they sound loud and clear for being run only on the factory amp and head unit. I don't see a need to add an aftermarket amp at this point.

recently bought these mated them to the same 5.25"'s and put them on a gto1004 from JBL... these sound (to me) better .. cleaner, deeper, all around than the 750$ focal's i was going to use. running them on 150W rms and they love it. for the money i couldn't ask for a better sounding speaker, keep up with the JBL 1224's i have running 1100 watts each! makes the BOSE system i had in my avalanche sound like childs play. thanks sonic for stocking a great product... huge jbl fan now

There's several manufacturers to choose from when it comes to dampening material these days. I have a hard time believing any specific brand is better than another, outside of knowing I want something that is on the thicker end AND with aluminum siding. Old tundra speakers went out put these in to replace stock speakers and they are good. Just hard to screw in the stock housing and needs to be tight seal against the housing but not bad heard worse heard better.

JBL is the best

I have had several JBL speakers but these are the first for a car. I counted on them to be good and they are. For the cost, the sound is wonderful. The base- which all important- is superb. These would be a great upgrade for any car.

Yes- but these

Dropped these in for the rear speakers in my Honda Element. I had to modify the brackets with a sawzall, but it's part of being a man.
You won't regret buying these speakers in the 60 dollar range.
I have it hooked up to a pioneer 5800 series.
Should have used in my fronts but I opted for components instead.

Great vocals, mid bass and build quality

Installed a set of these in the front doors of a 2006 Impala LT, powered by 2channels of a 4-channel amplifier. Very clean, clear and LOUD vocals. Mid bass was tight and solid. After mounting the included bracket to the speaker, had to drill (2) holes in the door. The top screw and location is reusable.

Middle of the road

I purchased these speakers with high hopes. I at least expected them to sound better than my stock speakers as they are only two-way. I must say that I was disappointed. the sound quality was not as good as my stock speakers with the exception that they could handle the wattage better. They don't have much of a low end response either. All in all - I would no recommend these speakers.

These are ok speakers but I did have some issues with the first set I bought cause one speaker was already blown straight out the box so I ordered another pair and there ok for the cost on just a head unit but I recommend running them at 2 ohms on a power amplifier to get the extra kick

loud and clear

i got 2 sets of these jbl 2 ohm speakers and matched them up with the new sony mex-xb100bt. it gets loud, has pretty good mid bass and takes every bit of the decks power. sonic did a smd amp dyno on the deck. the deck made over 60watts rms at 2ohm. the jbl also came with things such as adpaters, covers, screws and everything else needed. great speakers for a great price

Perfect Speaker!

So I bought these after months of searching and reading over reviews before I finally pulled the trigger on these and their 6x9 counterpart the 938s. I did get these for a 03 Ford Taurus however my doors only fit 6x8s which led me to purchase adapters for the front two speakers. After hours of fabricating the plates to fit these speakers. Not the speakers fault tho but these were exactly the sound I was looking for. DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THESE. I was extremely happy with these!
