Hands Down to JBL

Pros: Very high clear sound + Decent Bass (without AMP) + Endure High Volume and no distortion.

Cons: None

I installed these on my Buick Century 2005. 9 years old head unit, old wires and wood they rock. I was so surprised with the quality of the sound despite all these bad condition of operation.

Excellent Speakers Still Going Strong

Bought these speaker last year and still sound good. Can take power really good, get loud and keep it's composure at playing loud. Sound quality is excellent. Excellent powerful speakers from JBL. These speakers are running off a Kenwood Excelon XR-4S amp and take 150 rms at 2 Ohms all day long. Very pleased with these musical speaker. Buy these speakers and you won't be disappointed.

Got the three way eclipse components in the front and these in the back. theses speakers knock. the eclipses can't keep up they're so clear so loud just awesome. Will put a smile on your face when you hear them.

These are the best and loud'st I've owned and heard and can put heaps of power in to the and they love it i have 4 of these and putting 200 RMS in to each and they pound they reproduce so much low bass and hi's and dont distort at all. These alone make everything vibrate. Had for over 3 months no prob they dont even get warm would recommend to anyone best quality and price

Simple go get them!!!Best 6X9s I have ever heard just put these in the front doors of my 06 frontier. No amp just my kenwood deck wow so loud and clear only draw back was the holes didnt match my doors no big deal just drilled new ones.Now gotta buy another pair for the rear.Ok stop reading reviews just buy them I promise you will smile from ear to ear

JBL SPEAKERS

I love these speakers. They are great! I purchased them for a camry with jbl stock. My rear speakers broke so i ended up sticking with JBL and ordered these. They are easy to install. I did have to drill new holes for them because even though they are same size the holes are in different position. One of the speaker did blow out only after few months of use! I do not blast my music a lot. I might have done it a few times to test the speakers and they broke.

Great speakers that deliver the classic JBL sound.

I highly recommend these speakers. They're relatively cheap and the build quality of them is fantastic. As usual the sound quality is superb as with most JBL products. I personally have owned many JBL monitors over the years and currently own much of their professional products. The sound from the P963s is similar sounding to virtually all speakers I've had from JBL. Clear, undistorted mids and highs with a warm and revealing transparency that somehow stays neutral. Along with that the lows from them are great, I don't even need a sub. They get down very low for their size, maybe high 20s as a -6db point. Overall, my favorite car speaker. You won't be disappointed.
On a side note I give each speaker 300w RMS for headroom, so do not talk down on them if you are not providing them with sufficient power. This is with all JBL products, they are power hungry.

**HEARING PROTECTION REQUIRED**

If you want amazing clarity, smooth sound, and outrageously crisp highs you're looking at the right product. I have a pair of these along with a pair of p660c's ran off of a gto1004 all JBL of course and besides the fact that they sound amazing they are just downright ridiculously loud, not exaggerating one bit. After you have the system full tilt through a whole song and turn it down it sounds like you're at the most quiet place on earth even if your going 60 down the highway. Your hearing is literally muffled after you turn it down. When I have people ride in the back I fade it to the front some because I know it's excruciating from the complaints I get LOL plus I've been back there. All kidding aside if you're looking for the best look no farther these things are fantastic, not to mention the magnets look like the should be on some sub woofers. JBL all the way hands down.

Amazing sound

I own an '05 Toyota Sequoia which had the factory speakers up until this summer.... Took the car into one audio store here in town and that wanted to charge me upward of $800 to purchase & install two front door speakers.... A buddy of mine recommended this site for all my audio needs.... I purchased 6.5in JBL's for an 8in opening.... The package arrived w/brackets and everything to be able to install these speakers... Took them to Best Buy .... The whole job cost me $200 including purchase of speakers!!! Awesome sound!!! Turn up the volume , turn up the treble I'm at a whole new level!!!

Lovely Speakers!

Replaced stock speakers in my 91 prelude and wow are these great! I have it hooked up to a 600 watt sony explode and they are loud! Lot's of bass in these speakers and I may have to invest in some sound dampening.

Had to put the speakers in front of the door panel because it would not fit under. I love these speakers and are very happy.

These will work

Put these in a buddies daughters car. Put Infinity's in rear. Autotek 4 ch. amp with a Pioneer head unit. These have good low end, okay mid range and good high end. Had to back off the high end. Once I got tweaked they were good. She is very happy. Now wants a sub.

JBL is still Awesome

I have a pair of these with a 1200 watt Autotek amp in my Harley bags - absolutely rocks. i am breaking them in with the gain low but they still sound good.

Great Speaker

Great sound if connected with the right amp, and they looked very solid. Push them to the max you might get distortion but if you get the right settings you will get great sound quality. it is comparable with many high end sound systems that come in some cars as standard.

JBL car speakers for life.

I have owned a lot of car speakers over the years, and these are the best by far. I mean they blow away the last set I had, and for about 1/2 the price... JBL is really designing a wonderful car speaker, not just throwing something together. If your in this price range just buy them, you will be surprised by how good they sound. Very detailed, and smooth response.. An absolute bargain....

Don't Hesitate - Buy these

I was looking for an affordable speaker but with good full sound. Here was my setup - 2004 nissan 350z - 2 pairs of these jbls (door and behind seat) a rockford fosgate 600w 5 channel amp and a jl audio 10 sub. I can't comment how good these are without an amp or sub to back them up. But I've gotta say - they produce beautiful crisp and full sound. They make your music come to life - (and I didn't even use components up front - just straight coax). These are not only affordable compared to some high end speakers but I swear they put out some beautiful sound. My car sounds so good it's honestly absurd - I have done some car audio upgrades on previous vehicles and been disappointed Too much treble (bright) or bad quality. Finally I got it right with these speakers. oh and I received my order the next day even though I used their free standard shipping. Why order from anyone else! P.S. I am picky when it comes to my audio.

These speakers are really really really really great, sound is clear and you can hear every voice and instrument as in a concert. With the correct amp, you have a clear middles, the sound of really loud tweeters and the power of deep bass.

Sound great

I installed these speakers in my 03 silverado, man do they sound sweet. I used to have alpine typeS speakers in the door of my old truck so when i got the 03 i changed it up and put in these JBL's and im sure glad i did. The JBL's blow the alpines away. I have a 4 channel amp, so with these hooked up along with the sub the sound is amazing. Great highs, lows and mid. May want to get the sound dampener for the door, these do have some good bass and will rattle the door a bit.

Great speakers

Bought these speakers august 2011 went in the front doors of my 89 probe and a clarion 640 amp giving these speakers 75 rms on 2 ohms. Man these speakers when tuned properly sounds so sweet. Excellent bass, excellent mid bass and excellent highs. trust me you wont regret buying these speakers. They are built tough and to handle power. Love JBL products. Running JBL gto 628 in the back and JBL 1214D being pushed by a JBL gto 300.1 mono amp, Subwoofer wired down to 2 ohm so amp can give it 294 rms.

I put these in my 2014 Ram quad cab along with JBL 6.5 components and their EZ series amp. Clarity is unreal and they rock hard! very pleased with the quality especially for the price. These perform on par with units that cost 3x as much.

Great speakers

Had these for a few months. Built well, Impressive sensitivity rating of 96dB per the manual. These speakers paired with jbl's component door speakers play crystal clear even at ear bleeding levels. I've got several compliments with these. Probably the best bang for your buck I've seen so far.

JBL is the best

These are the best JBL 6x9's and probably the best 6x9's anywhere. They need an amp matched for their wattage. I installed pioneer amp and I'm just playing an ipod through an original Cassete deck in a classic oldsmobile using a wired cassette. It sounds fantastic! I can imagine if I was playing lossless digital files through a modern plaayer clarity would be a little crisper, but this really kicks ans never distorts at any level. I have to keep the original deck since it is a classic car, but it is a concert hall in there. The folks at Sonix had a great price and shipped right away. Thanks. I'm extremely satisfied. For a jazz loving audiophile, these speakers are the Best.

loud and clear

Perfect, i bought this product with a pair of 6x9 JBL's,hook them up with an MBQuart 600.4 amp, couldn't be any happier. I do recommend this product.

JBL always a sure bet.

I installed these P963 into the rear deck of my Accord Coupe. I also have the JBL P660c component set installed into my front doors, running off an Alpine HU without any additional amplification.
With these speakers and the proper dampening of the doors and deck, I don't see a need for a sub, in a larger car, perhaps, but not a small coupe or sedan.
JBL are known for their up-front mid-range and dynamic vocal range. If you like sweet relaxed mids and laid back highs, these are probably not the best choice, but if you are into guitar blues, kickin' drums or electronic, get them.

good bang for the buck.

These are ok. Go 75% volume n they start clipping but if u have the right amp the adjustments will fix it. Not good paired up with the 6 by 9's p963.

Great Speakers for being less than $100

I purchased these for a friend who needed wanted to upgrade the audio in her vehicle. She has an aftermarket headunit and I had a JBL GTO1004 amplifier that we used to power these.

After doing some basic deadening on the doors, the bass response of these speaker is actually pretty good. On a stock HU you could go as low as 60hz with these.

Amplifed I had better results with a 80hz crossover, although when overpowered, 100hz was more effective. Regardless these take most of the power the amp has to offer with no complains and for the price are very good. I have about double rated on them and only when I really push it have I ever heard any protest. On rated power these will get pretty loud and will have no durability issues if crossed over properly.


I have lots of experience with car audio, my own vehicle is a fully active front stage using about $1000 worth in raw drivers, so I DO know good sound.

Anyways the 1 inch tweeter on these puts them ahead of many coaxial units that only utilize a 3/4.

JBL P369 6X9's!

I have yet to install these, but already know how I feel abut them! I've been installing JBL/Infinity/HK Int gear since the 80's. They always represent a very good ballance of SQ/efficiency/SPL performance & value!

Never downplay speaker efficiency as 3dB higher sensitivity rating = 2X the effective amplifier wattage!
IE, your 50Watt amp now plays as loud as 100W! Couple that with these unit's 2.6'ish Ohm nominal impedance and you end up capable of high SPL's with a cost effective (50-100 W per ch)!

The bass is sickening form a 6x9... totally beyond what I thought. Very deep and smooth. I am powering them by a Kenwood KDC 762 HD with an 250 watt rockford fosgate power plant. They are loud and most of all, clear.
Sonic shipped this babies to me fast. Great response to my order.

Pros: if you're looking for home quality sound in your car or truck, this is what you want.

Cons: I didn't get them installed quick enough.

I have had these speakers for a month or so now. I have them hooked up to a memphis 600 watt amp and they sound great. They replaced a pair of rockford fosgate speakers and honestly sound way better. Would recommend to anyone. For the money the sound quality can't be beat.

Perfect Speakers

These speakers are AMAZING! They have A LOT of base (low end) for such small speakers, and they're real crystal clear. The only complaint I have - I had to send them back for an exchange because they came out of the factory as a defective pair. Left tweeter was distorted, due to some metal that got stuck in the cone. Other than that, definitely recommend.

Outstanding 6x9 Speakers

I ordered these from Sonic Electronix based on reviews and my vehicles audio parameters and they are better than I had hoped with my vehicle set up. I have a 2015 Dodge ram with the Alpine system. This system can be tough to upgrade because of the DSP in the factory amp and the 2 ohm impedance of the amp. I had read on several forums that none of the speakers receive a true full range signal and while this may be true, installing these speakers in the rear doors is a huge improvement over the OEM Alpine speakers. The holes line up almost perfectly. A small spacer that comes with the speakers could be used, but I installed without and there are no gaps between the speaker and the speaker pod. I just had to be careful to not damage speaker mounting holes on the speaker when tightening. I had to drill two holes in each door skin area under the speaker pod and use zip ties to secure the crossover. These speakers perform and are worth every penny. I have had many speakers over the years and I would recommend these to anyone. If you need a 2 ohm 6x9, this is the one and at this price it is like stealing!

Excellent speakers for the money

You cannot go wrong with a pair of these. They will take the power as long as you roll off the low end and send it to a sub box. I currently have 4 of these in my truck sucking up 200 watts rms to each speaker and they kick some solid butt!

Be prepared to blow them if you pump over 150 watts without dumping everything below 80-100 hz.

I have a pair of these in my Dodge Charger front and rear deck first thing first you have to run them off an amp they just sound and hit harder rnng them on factory is ok if it's ampified the over sized cone makes the bass nice and the crossover make the tweeters sing they might b a lil pricey for some but if I can afford them get them they want disappoint you
