Outstanding stereo. Lots of features. Might be complicated for some.

This stereo is an outstanding product and I highly recommend it. Installed it in our 2006 Ford Escape and it looks wonderful. Sonic Electronix includes the dash kit and the wiring kit too. It is super easy to install and sounds great. If you want to play your Zune player, this is not the right radio. Instead, look to the KIV-BT900. Ipod feature works great and you can use the ipod to link the Pandora feature. A little complicated to use the menu system as you have to go through many sub-tiers to get to the feature you may be looking for and that is not helpful when driving so plan on pulling off the road or configuring it before leaving. Radio station memory is a perfect example. You can't push an external button, like 1 thru 6 on most radios. You push the top of the ring surrounding the volume dial. Then down to AM or FM, then down through the stations til you see the one you have saved in the memory.

Great Audio! Great Dash! Very Pleased! However......

I bought this just recently for I loved the display, it the color Full Dot LCD and the Variable color selection. However, it is extremely hard to see the screen when it is sunny outside, I don't know why but it is so it makes it hard to be driving and find a song you want on your ipod but its not a deal breaker. 22Watts RMS sound great compared to my last sony Xplod system and the bass is much deep for just a dash.
Do beware that Kenwood says this has a front USB Port.... it does not. The usb port is a cord that comes from the back of the unit itself... so i had it put in my glovebox... not a big deal since you have direct Ipod control anyways. Bluetooth feature is easy and extremely cool. HD Radio is nice to have also.
Overall, extremely happy and would buy from Kenwood again.

Great Deck

Over the past few years, Kenwood has really stepped up their game in the quality of their Decks, and I am very pleased with this product. It's under $300.00 and offers so many EQ features, that it literally took me over half an hour to tune my Speakers.

Typically I always look into Alpine or Pioneer for Decks, but at this point in time, I think all their newer Decks look ugly, has too many buttons, and are hard to use and navigate. This Kenwood Deck however has a very clean and simple look, and is very easy to navigate and control.

I can't say I have personally used the Blutooth or the Mic feature of this Deck, but overall this is a great buy for it's price range. I've had it installed in my Nissan 300zx for over 4 months now and no issue's at all.

I Highly Recommened this product if you are a very serious EQ tuner or are just looking for a High-Quality Deck.

Great

Sounds great. Everybody is talking about the shinning display but i bought an anti-glare invisible shield for iphone and cut it in the size of the whole screen. I have no problem with the unit and sounds perfect. Recommend it!

Awesome HeadUnit!

The first unit I ordered had some Bluetooth issues. Got it replaced.
Pros.
-HeadUnit is very responsive!
-Tons of built-in features when it comes to building your soundstage (Alpine makes you buy its Imprint software to access Multi-EQ)
Cons.
Display is almost unreadable in sunlight due to Glare (almost all Kenwood HU's have this issue)

Will recommend this product. Just placed my order for the Sirius radio kit. Great HU!

Awesome deck to own

Its an awesome deck to own. Recently bought mines off Ebay from a guy who claimed the deck was a display model for a car audio shop and it stopped working on them one day, I got it in hooked it up to my Xterra and she works like a charm. I played with her for about an hour and was able to figure the majority of things on her. Its an awesome deck. I love the graphic that plays at the bottom of the screen that shows you what note is playing. I also love how the USB and AUX is located in the rear of the deck makes it funner for me to customize my dash as I like to be different from the crowd. I also love the HD radio, color customization, and the running ability. This deck has replaced my old Kenwood KDC-X591 which I had for about 5-6 years and was starting to give out on me with my system and life of being loud. I have owned a lot of decks and Kenwood is my favorite and they always meet my expectations and go beyond. Only problem I have with this deck is it doesn't stream music viva Bluetooth, but that was my fault for not paying attention to the details. I will be replacing her with the KDC-X995 so I can have that ability and I will be either putting this radio in a custom sound system I am building for my room( I do a lot of custom work to have unique stuff) and will be keeping her til she is completely done just like my KDC-X591.

works great

This is a great head unit. Would suggest it to any one. Has tons of features in a small single din unit. Good screen easy controls. I use it in my boat with 1000 watts of amps no signal distortion at high volume. Works great with sat radio and ipod.
