Kenwood remote head
It appears moisture wicks up through the pins on the connections and causes problems. The new head solved the problem and i shrink wrapped the connection

Beware
This is a very good product. However, be aware that when ordered from this site the remote does not come with an extension cable. Many other sites have the same product at a higher price but the cable is included. If you want to mount the remote at the back of the boat like I did you will have to shell out around $45.00 more dollars.
