Good Bang for the Buck

I purchased this head unit for the sound quality, USB, and display features. I installed it in a 1999 Wrangler where listening to CD's is an impossibility on bumpy terrain. During summer months (top down weather) the sun really washed out the display on my old unit. The bright white display is really visible. The sound quality control is also excellent. I run a 8GB usb flash drive with over 50CD's ripped into the highest quality MP3's with no issues. The only real negative is some of the menu navigation. But easy to live with once you figure it out. Good buy from Sonic compared to local dealers. My setup consists of an Alpine F-250 with two 6.5" Kenwood speakers & two 4x6" Infinity speakers.

Great Stereo

more powerful than other head units for the same price. the screen is nice but it comes from the factory with a video of a car driving on the screen which gets annoying so i turned it off. the usb ipod control is awesome but because its in the rear i had to drill a hole in my dash. overall great stereo.

Great Deck

I love this deck... Sound quality is amazing and it has no distortion.... Works great and has nice 4 volt preouts for amps so they sound great too

great bang for your buck

This unit has all the features a good unit should have and even though I've owned any name brand you can imagine I always go back to kenwood. Great crossover and EQ for doors and subs, definitely reccomended.

Great Unit, Cheap Price

I bought this deck so that I could plug my iPod into my car stereo. The unit itself was very easy to install and sounds great. My only problem is that the way the deck displays the iPod information is very slow. You must use the scroll wheel to move from A to Z on the song list, and it is much slower than your standard iPod. The scroll wheel is also very touchy, and difficult to operate when you are driving. Overall, a good product.

Great Head Unit. Lots of functions and pretty simple to use. Knobs are a bit sensitive but overall a great buy.

Nice

This head unit has good sound and features, looks cool (not too flashy). The menus, though, are a mess. Also it doesn't sound like 22rms.

Great Receiver (Best I've had)

I wanted to give Kenwood a try since i have a Mazda Protege and they have used Kenwood in other Protege's, (the MSP). Anyways this headunit is the best i've had. Sounds great and looks great too. I love the knobs. At first i was a little lost, but reading the manual and besides it helped very much. After 5 mins i was enjoying good music. CD quality is impressive. I have my 5.5 ipod and it works fine. Had to get used to the controls at first but when i did, it was all good. If you have a lot of music you do spend a few moments looking, but since i put my ipod random, -from the headunit- i dont spend much time looking.

I've been having an issue now that i have this for a few months and it's that when i plug in the ipod, sometimes the headunit display "reboots" or goes blank. I hope it's not serious.

love this headunit

I bought this headunit to replace an older unit, mainly so that I could hook my ipod up to it. Now I can watch videos and even play games, and have the sound come outta my speakers.

The only cons I have for this HU is that the buttons are sometimes hard to click properly, and I have no idea how to change the time. I guess I just haven't cared enough to dig up the manual, but it's correct again thanks to DST.

Great Product

My cousin owns this deck and all I have to say is wow. First of all the sound quality this thing puts out is amazing and having a usb adapter for an mp3 is the best way to go. The buttons are very easy to use and the car graphics are very good. You can also control your sub levels with this thing. Can't beat the price.

Good product!

Good head unit. This was my first aftermarket receiver and I have thoughly enjoyed it. The three pairs of four volt pre-outs are essencial for music quality. I wish the EQ was more complex, but overall a great product to start out with.

Weird iPod system.

This system sounds great, but the whole iPod navigation system via USB sucks. It is complicated and the push button to choose the different songs and options doesn't work very well. I just plug my iPod in via the Aux cord, which unfortunately plugs in the back instead of the front panel.

Other than that, it is alright, but a little pricy for what you get. Get something more simple with an Aux plug in the front panel and just charge the iPod through the cigarette adapter.

Great Product

This head unit is a great product kenwood made. It has great expandability and puts out 4 volts to each rca. It is the best head unit in its price range by far. The eq is good and the interface is easy to learn. I would rec to anyone.

Can be confusing

This head unit hads many features but can be very confusing to use. In order to use the ipod you have to make sure it's all pluged in and off random otherwise it won't work right. soemtimes the included remote can be very finicky. it just takes time getting used to i guess. if you are pateint and willing to read the manual you should buy this, but if not i suggest looking someplace else.
