peforms as advertised

The following review is for 11DS68.2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Overall, I am pleased. Obviously with a relatively inexpensive pair of components there will be compromises. With these the peformance is not as flat across the spectrum as higher-end speakers. However, this is to be expected. There are a couple of minor peaks, but they can't be much more than like 3-6 db. There are some nice things about these speakers. Great value for the price. They have a wide range extending up into some pretty extreme highs. It can handle some pretty low frequencies too, but they seem to kind of roll off, but if you boost the bass (or better yet cut the highs and mids) you can get a pretty complete sound. The efficiency is very good. These things are loud, which suited my needs since I don't have an amp for them. I recommend them if you don't have a lot of money and you want a bang for your buck kind of upgrade from a stock system. These will put out decently with the head's built in amp and they will improve your sound quality with wider range (particularly in the highs). The component setup will let you get those highs up where they're not just wasted on your knees, which will make it so you can actually appreciate the magic of stereophonic sound. On a side note, it's not super important, but I'd say the design is a little cheesy looking, but that's totally subjective. Also you can set the tweeters to three different attenuations with the crossovers. I just have them as low as they can go (i think it's -6db) because those things are pretty bright.

Great Speakers

The following review is for 11DS68.2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Been running these about 6 months now. Powered by a Kicker 5 channel amp. Cant complain they sound great. Highs are really clear and smooth. I have them on 0db because I think they are a little harsh at +1 or +3 db but that is my taste. You will not be dissapointed in these speakers thats for sure. Could not be happier.

Will buy again

The following review is for 11DS68.2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I have been nothing but happy with these component speakers. They have an awesome sound, really great highs and lows. I could vibrate pictures off of walls driving down the street and the only thing that I did was a huge amp(1100 watts) and these speakers. They handle the sound like magic. You will have to tone down the brightness but once you do that they don't hurt your ears any more

Bought these speakers for my husband to put in his truck. He has said nothing but good things about how great they sound. He is happy with them and their quality.

Crisp-N-Clear

The following review is for 11DS68.2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I installed these in my '09 F150 Super Crew, because the factory speakers leave a lot to be desired.. The installation was easy and they are so clear I hear details in music I never even knew were there before. Running them off the factory HU with no amplification... adding 2 12" Rockford Fosgate R2SD2-12 for the Bass this weekend and this install will be complete.

sounds great

The following review is for 11DS68.2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

These speakers sound great with my stock Toyota radio. Then I switched head units to a Sony s300-BTX and they sounded even better but still not very bassy so I added a 100w 2channel amp but still not very much bass but the miss and highs sound so good better than any of my friends systems.. super crisp and clear!!!

Big sound moderate price

Great sound, really does hit low notes as per specs once broken in, which most 6x8 cant.(not saying these are subwoofers) Good sound separation of highs with tweeter angled mounting on surface or flush/angled with included kit.The crossover is on the large size,(must plan for this and tweeter location) but adjustable for highs, length of wires was good for door and backseat mounting-good mounting kit.
These are a great bang for the bucks you pay and really shine with an amplifier or high output head unit.

clean and crisp

I replaced all the speakers in my 06 Frontier crew cab. people always told me the stereo sounded great before I replaced them, now my passengers are blown away. I have a complete kicker stereo now with these in the front, 6.5's in the back, and a 10" solobaric. Kicker is no joke. I am an audio engineer and these sound better than the $3,000 stereo monitors in the audio booth. when I need some alone time to study a track, I take a drive in my truck. Kicker all the way.

good buy!

Bought these for my 05 reg cab Ford Ranger. Easy to install, sound great. I'm getting ready to replace my door speakers and im going to get these again. Tweeters were easy to install. Sound great i have a kicker 10" L3 i also got from here that was a great buy also. Looking for some great highs. These have highs mids and some lows but does great with highs and mids (not a bass speaker)!

Beware the rating on these speakers

I bought these to replace the front door speakers in my F150, and they are powered by an RF 4x50 watt amp. They distort at little to no gain on the amp. If they were only powered by the aftermarket stereo amp, they'd probably be fine, but they definitely don't handle the amperage from a seperate amp. I wouldn't recommend buying them. I will be upgrading to a set of Kappa components. It's worth it to spend the extra $50.

Kicker Components

These are are some tough little speakers. Installed as replacements for my 2004 F150 Supercrew. No adjustments/mods necessary. Powered with a solid Kicker amp, these speakers sound great!

idk yet

I don't know how good these are I got them today and so far so good a little trouble in wiring the suckers cause u have two converters but I have them wired to the old rear speaker connectors I'm the back of my ranger limited space but I don't have the tweeters hooked up or the 6x8 hooked up right but so far real decent speakers not sure if u wanna get them for BASS and that's what I'm looking for but they should and I hope work better when they r hook up right

great sound

Very clear crisp sound i wish i would of gotten the one that had seperate tweeter and crossover that i have in my work truck but i wasnt wanting to punch holes in my personal truck, great sound maxed out the volume and never even scattered or tattered the music, speekers sound good but remember when you have passengers it blocks the sound good to always by some component systems.

Kicker's ROCK !!!

I bought these to up grade the factory speakers in my F-350 crew cab. Pushed by a JBL 600 watt 4 channel amp the Kicker Ds680.2 sound very crisp on the top end and have a nice full sound through out the music spectrum. I liked them so much that I replaced the speakers in my daughters Acura with the same Kickers.

You get what you pay for

I got these for the front doors of a 2009 Ford F-150 and have them connected to an Alpine PDX-5. The crossover support 0, +3, and +6 for the tweeters but I left them at 0 since the tweeters are extremely bright. The bass frequency response the 40Hz frequency response listed by Kicker is extremely optimistic as there is audible distortion as high as 70Hz.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. The highs are extremely bight and clear, making vocals sound fantastic. The shortcomings in low end frequencies is not an issue since I will be connecting a 10" or 12" subwoofer soon.
