Almost "perfect" for my 2002 TJ
Although not as heavy gauge as the OEM part, this replacement is sturdy enough for its purpose. A few things Metra should do to make this really perfect:
1. provide either metal or a more rigid plastic radio brackets. Instructions should suggest to use a hanger strap on the back of the radio to provide additional support to correct for the plastic brackets
2. provide some guidelines for the placement of the brackets on the radio for height placement and reveal depth as related to the cutout
3. make the accessory pocket piece both fit more snugly and make it deeper and with a storage space that can actually be used (there is room for it)
4. since there are no screws to hold in the bottom of the piece, there should be 4 push-in locks and not just 2
I painted mine with the Jeep agate-colored paint that matches my dash and nobody could tell this was an aftermarket installation.
I'm overall very happy with the Metra 95-6549
