Great product!

Thicker than the competitors, very nice to work with, and a highly durable product. I'm a finishing carpenter by trade and specialize in commercial finishing. I've worked with thousands of products and know quality when I see it. I received 2 18" x 32" sheets as part of their promotion on another component I ordered and was so impressed I ordered another 60 sq. ft. I have spent countless evenings researching sound deadening and am confident I chose material on par or better than anything else on the market.

This Product Makes A Big Difference!

I has recently got Flowmasters on my car, which are enjoyable, but then started a new job and now am commuting longer to work. I was not to happy about the drone of the new exhaust plus the road noise from our poor Northern CA highway. It was killing my audio and resulted in me having to turn up the volume about +10 high than normal. I know my '90 camaro does not have the best insulation so i decided to to action.

I called in on a Sunday and they were really helpful and they advised me to get NVX.To get the job done well I knew I needed at least 50sq.ft. So I bought the TWO 40sq.ft. boxes and I am glad I did, for I did not get to do the door panels.

I literally took out all the seats and carpets and lined from the drivers/passengers feet all the way to the back tail lights WITHOUT any gaps and it took all 80sq.ft. I took me +18 hrs one day to install the soundamping material and to put pack everything together to original condition. IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! The material is nice and thick solid construction and really sticky which I wanted. The hardest was installing roof panels and needing as third hand, but that is what my head was for. The product went on nicely with the the help of rollers and rarely needed to use a heat gun in tight corners, but that might be just me. I and going to by more of this product to finish the doors. I know it was overkill but I wanted a nicer ride in my older 24year old car.

Now the road noise coming from my door panels are just as the loud as my exhaust. It also acts as insulation and you do not have to run the AC as high on hot days. Now my audio is so much cleaner that instead of boosting the volume by +10, i have to decrease the volume -6. I have a older Pioneer DEL-BT710 with nice infinity kappa speakers and wires I bought from Sonic back in March 2010

I say do not hesitate if your are on the fence because even all of my friends that I seldom drive around instantly noticed the difference. FYI I do have to warn you it does take some time to install, but if you do not go crazy like I did it should take you 25% of my time for the installation. This product did add 60lbs to my car, which I am willing to accept. Now its time for a sub and I will most likely get that from Sonic too!

Easiest way to get better sound

I installed the sound dampening my self. It made my car quieter , and the sound of my system seems to be wider and bass is more present. A very good add on.

I decided to do this in my trunk to save a few dollars on my install. What a difference it makes in my small Corolla. Took about 3 hours to complete the trunk and it worked great!

Best stuff i have used so far!!

I installed this kit in my 07 crown vic, and it more than fills the gigantic trunk and all the doors. The mat is very easy to work with, just cut and stick it in place. I used a roller to smooth everything out. Before i installed the NVX mat my trunklid would flex so much it would leak air out. Now the trunk barely flexes (maybe 3/4" max), but the windshield is starting to flex quite a bit!

i will definitely be using this product in my next audio build!

Works great and it does help withthe Bass within my truck for sure! I would recommend you get a roller to help lay it. Also, it sometimes get's black stuff everywhere if you aren't careful when setting it down, but other than that it works great!

NVX 40 ft.

This is a lot of dampening for a great price. It went on easily for me and made such a difference with the sound of my system. I would recommend this to anyone trying to make their system that much better. Not only does it stop the rattle but it improves the sound inside which is all that matters. I loved this product so much that I bought two of these bulk kits and i ended up doing my whole car. The Bulk kit is great for a trunk because you can cover every little inch in it.

Only use this stuff

Easy to install, even in winter-ish temps. Seems to be more flexible then dynamat, which is a good thing. It will take at least two of these kits to do most of a fullsize Bronco. Sonic's free shipping is great with these bulk kits as they are heavy. Works great on the rear floor section I have done so far.
I would wear gloves during install, but NVX does not seme to cut up your hands like some of the other brands. I only did it once. Install was way easier then I thought it would be and quick with as big as the sheets are.

Received my NVX sound dampening and installed it on my trunk and the difference is amazing. I haven't done the doors and interior yet, so I can only imagine how quiet the ride will be and the improved sound quality. Prior to my install, I had some rattling and loud road noise from aftermarket exhaust. It is so much better now. I will spend some time next weekend doing the doors and other troubled interior areas. So far, I am extremely impressed. Great price for the amount of sq ft. Very easy to install like the Dynamat Xtreme, which I used in the past. In my opinion, this product is probably better, it is thicker and reduces more road noise without having to install multiple layers.

Nvx bulk pack

This stuff worked nicely. It's heavy, sticky, and sharp AF. It's cheaper than dynamat, and does a great job. I did the trunk, rear deck, and two front doors, and I have 4 sheets left.

Perfect Sound Deadner

All I got to say about this product is that it is Amazing. It seems thicker than Dynamat, it is easy to handle and move around, the sticky tar is not that sticky on your fingers, but when you apply it to the door that thing is not coming off. It seems that the sticky tar is meant to be sticky once the pressure is applied which is great because I dot want it on a unwanted place. I used two sheets per door for a truck for full coverage and now it sounds great when I close the doors, no rattles and knocking on the door sounds like knocking on tile floor.

WOW!

I just installed the NVX on my front doors and Dynamat on the rears and trunk to compare last weekend. The NVX is heavier and the front doors feel solid and really thump when closing (feels like a tank like the previous reviewer said). The Dynamat is lighter and doesn't have the same impact, yet is still solid.

As far as performance goes, they both perform almost identically. I would give a slight edge to the NVX overall, but both are excellent and did a great job reducing rattles and exhaust drone in my car. Music sounds incredible.

This is a much better deal than Dynamat. Highly recommended!!!

Rereview of NVX

I was asked by sonic electronix to do a review of NVX products again. I have NO PROBLEM doing this as their sound dampner is the best BAR NONE! Doors are heavy as a tank but the sound quality is way better and it didnt flex my roof and absolutely worth every nickel! I own a 99 chevy tahoe and this kit did my whole car pretty much. All 4 doors, the tailgate and rear wheelwells. I put 3/4 mdf wood on tailgate and side wheel wells for better sound travel turning my big truck into a box itself! I cant stress enough how much this made a difference. The ONLY con i have is tha its pretty thick so get the good roller and do every piece correctly. The rep from sonic convinced me to get this instead of dynamat and wow he was right. You get more product and better quality! Im a serious car audio enthusiast and anyone out there that sees this and wants better sound and more spl do what i did YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Pound the ground knowing you have full potential of your system! NVX sound dampaner doesnt ever need that second skin stuff i promise! Dynamat is good, this stuff is the best no comparison i guarentee it! 5s all across the board, believe me if i think a product sucks, i will give it to you straight. I only have 2 jlw7 12in with a lil more than 1900watts going to them and this product was the deciding factor of tightness,no rattle, and even keeps heat/cool in or out. Simply amazing. Good product. People with upholstery be CAREFUL!!!!

40 sq ft wasn't enough for my entire explorer. I did the headliner, all 4 doors and the rear hatch. Did not touch the floor so it's still a little noisy in my car but I can still hear a difference. I warmed it up before I put it on just to be safe but watch out if you have upholstery. It won't come off. I got some on my leather and I have to get some sort of heavy duty cleaner (it's still on there). This is very tar like when warm. Not so bad when it's room temp but I put the product on when it was 34 outside so it definitely needed to be warmed up. Tip: size it up and make all the necessary cuts before taking the wax paper backing off. It'll go a lot quicker and look a lot more professional and don't forget the screw holes and another holes that need to be cut.

For the price i find the product a great value, even after the expensive shipping cost for the weight of the product. It doesnt seem to smell. It came in 3 cardboard boxes one inside another, well packaged.

I bought the 40 square feet package. I opened it up and was amazed how thick n beefy it was. I have a tahoe and it did all 4 doors,the tailgate and side wheel wells and have a sheet left over. I recommend this over any other dampening material out there. My doors are HEAVY now like a tank solid. I dont notice any rattles but my bass is so loud i wouldnt hear it anyway,outside the car yes but not any more. Its thicker and may take some extra elbow grease to get in all the corners but what a fine product, i recommend this to everyone. My music does sound better too, a must have for everyone.This is the thickest,and best on the market IMO!

I would recommend this product! I have never used dynamite but for a lot less money my trunk no longer rattles and my subssound so much better. My only concern is that i didn't buy enough!

WOW!! What a difference!!

Bought the kit for my 05 Jaguar X-type. Car was pretty quiet before, now its almost completely silent when rolling down the interstate and as an added bonus, it eats most of the vibrations under your feet from the floorboard.

Ive used dynamat before it works well. This stuff is so much thicker and better wow! My doors are like tank doors i gotta keep yelling at my gfriend to quit slamming them they add beef to the doors. Also, my tailgate was rattling with expansion foam and dynamat. I did a perfect layer of this stuff and BAAAAM! Problem solved. What a deal too. Did it myself and saved alotta money but its work nobody loves to do. Install it you wont be disappointed i promise. The thickness is mindboggling over other brands. I also never got cut or hurt 1 time haha! Great product Sonic!

I bought this entire kit to cover my trunk area in a Pontiac g6 . Double layered the trunk lid and floor pan and single layer the trunk walls and double layer top and bottom of the rear deck . Installed over a three day period with temps as low as 26 degrees Fahrenheit. Still pliable and stuck with only surface prep . Cons ? None really . Pros - Reliable does as advertised . And really actually worked versus the previous brands I have used . A slight tar smell that is associated with this type of product . In my opinion this is where it is at price wise and quality and sonic electronix for selling it. Can't go wrong with these two . Good product and seller .

A lot of Material

This is great stuff. It sticks well, is easy to cut and does an incredible job. My truck had bad resonant modes in the lower frequencies and placing this material in the doors and cab fixed that problem immediately. It can be a little hard to stick to oddly shaped areas but with a little elbow grease goes on fine.

I used this kit for two trunks and two doors and still have some left. In my souped up subaru it quieted the exhaust noise dramatically. It stopped my trunk lid rattle in my sedan and deepened the bass. I would recommend this to everyone! I have used the nvx deadner for things you wouldn't think of until you have it on hand. Does the job

I installed this in a 2012 4 door Tacoma. Comes with 10 big sheets. I used two sheets per door (outer panel and inner) and had two sheets left. It helped with the overall noise of the truck and really helped the midbass in the doors. Doors have a nice solid sound to them when they close. Product is nice and thick and sticks to the surface easily. I suggest wearing gloves when installing because that foil can cut you easily.

Great stuff

I put this to quiet down some of the road noise and keep the rattles down from the sub. It worked well for both. Inexpensive sound dampener that works great. The kit isnt enough to do a complete car100%, 2 of these kits would do a more comprehensive job. I bought one and got most of the car. I will buy another to complete it eventually.

Great Quality Deadener

I've used this before and recently with very satisfying results, nicely tightening up the inside audio while reducing external sound. On a '97 Civic's roof, it muted heavy rain considerably while eliminated trunk rattle from the sub. On a '03 Element it greatly quieted the echoing doors. In both cases, the doors felt pleasantly heftier with a nice thud upon being closed.

Absolutely no smell from this product either at any point and it does adhere well without feeling excessively sticky. The only possibly dislike is that I'm not certain it's a thick 90mil, which would likely yield even quieter results yet be heavier, so I prefer it as is.

Better than Dynamat

I have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coup, I have removed the entire interior and plan on doing a %100 percent coverage. It will take 6 Bulk Packs to complete as I am doing a double layer in entire car. I started the install 1 box of Dynamat.. its good stuff, but then I found out about NVX and decided to purchase a box of it and installed it....I found that it is better than Dynamat for two main reasons... its thicker, and cost less. (its made with same elastomeric butyl and aluminum, just thicker)
I have purchased a total of 5 box's of NVX and will finish laying it soon.

Sonic and NVX killed it

Once again, NVX killed it. You won't find a better value in vibration dampener than this kit. Less than $100 for 40 square feet of REAL, high quality VRC tiles. It is marketed a little misleading, but that's nothing that isn't normal across the industry. This item is a vibration dampening material, not a true "sound deadener" and it is a very good quality vibration dampener at that. It's thick, easy to work with and very easy to apply.

Don't hesitate to pull the trigger on this one. Partial coverage is all that's needed; you don't need to cover entire panels. You can use it on your door skins, around your speaker mounts, on the inside of your plastic interior panels and anything else that might resonate or vibrate; mudding up your system.

This is a great product and I actually purchased another 20ft for the rest of my car. I actually put the entire bulk pack in my trunk and back wheel well areas. My cheaply made Kia forte went from sounding like it was going to fall apart to a professional sounding acoustic environment! NVX sound deadening

All I have to say is WOW! I always wanted to put Dynamat or some sort of sound proofing inside my vehicles, but it was too expensive for me when I was young. Now that I am older, even though I could afford it I still found it was crazy expensive and could not fathom spending my hard earned cash on it now. But after seeing this I basically purchased this product because it was cheap and not the cement based crap from home depot. All that I can tell you is one of my buddies was jealous because he paid a hefty penny for his Dynamat and this is a better product if not the same after comparing them side by side. After installing it in my Dodge Charger Daytona myself I had a system installed professionally and the installers asked where did I get it because its legit. I like this so much that I am gonna buy another box for my new Porsche or GTR when I decide which one I want. All that I have to say is this the same thing as HushMat, Dynamat or other popular sound deadening for a fraction of the cost. Get it while its cheap because the price may go up after people realize this is the item they always wanted,but could not afford at one time and it starts flying off the shelf.

Nvx is the best!

Using a heat gun and a utility knife, the installation of this sound deadening material was easy. There is a huge difference between spots that have this installed and spots that do not. I would recommend any nvx brand products over any other brands such as dynamat or stinger

It works to kill rattles very well. I am restoring a car and using the nvx on all surfaces possible. It makes the car more quite, comfortable and solid feeling. For the price you can't beat it and quality is tops. I also have nvx speakers and love them. Worth the money and makes for a more quality sound experience.

Nvx sound deadener just as good as other brands!

I've used multiple different brand sound deadener mat from big name companies in multiple installs. This was the first time I had tried nvx. I was skeptical to say the least. But the price was decent and looking at the weight, it was comparable to other big names.
So I took a shot. I am extremely impressed with the quality and value of this product. You will be hard pressed to find a better deadener for the money. This performs at or above brands like dynamat, stinger and is cheaper. This will be my new go to deadener unless I find a better value. My previous go to was stinger. But as i mentioned this is cheaper and performs the same. It's a no brainer.
I highly suggest trying this deadener. It won't let you down.

First time I have ever ordered this product. Always used another brand. No more! This product is far superior to the other sound proofing I have used. Will order again soon for the next installation.

Why use anything else

Used this on a 2017 Sonata Sport, using the 25% method with a little more attention around the door speaker locations. I removed the speakers and applied to the outside door wall as far as I could reach, then applied all around the speaker mounting location, the rest of the inside door and to the door panel that I had removed). I had enough to do all fours doors and the entire trunk (tire well, walls and lid) - again using the 25% method. Product is thick, easy to trim and apply. Just be sure to clean the car's surfaces first, with rubbing alcohol. I can't see spending more money for less product and achieving the same result. NVX is my go to sound deadener.

Really improves sound quality in car

The NVX product is a cheaper version of Dynamat that works just as well. It is a long process, as it took at least 15 hours to do my Mustang.All of the panels and carpet have to be removed first which is why it is labor intensive. Plus cutting the product to fit properly takes time. You don't have to cover the car 100% as 30% - 50% coverage is supposed to work. However the more material you use is probably better. I think I did 80% coverage with the 40 sq ft bulk pack plus the 4 door pack ( $150 total ). The end result is better sound from your stereo and a quieter ride. Worth all of the work!

I'm a believer now!

The product is great! I did not understand the concept until I tried it. You cant really hear the music when you are standing outside of the car. Inside the car, the music can be loud, but outside the car, the music is not very audible. This makes it great when driving around and not wanting to disturb quiet neighborhoods.

Application is easy once you figure out where you need to cut the material to fit in the car.

I was in the air on what brand I should purchase but nvx always has quality products so I bought this matting and the roller to do the roof of my 03 silverado and it's a major I mean major difference my roof used to rattle like crazy from my system and now no rattle whatsoever and it's keeps my truck insulated better it's sticks really good to the metal you just have to make sure and clean the metal before applying but I am impressed!

The only con I have "YOU NEED GLOVES!!!" The foil backing will cut your hands shreds. All in all it is an EXCELLENT deadener.

Good stuff!

This kit is HEAVY. it comes tri folded with wax paper attached to the adhesive. The kit is fairly thick and if you are putting them on your door you will need to trim out the clips so they sit flush. The adhesive is very good quality and it does not get everywhere. I used a sharpie to get the shape of my cuts close then a snap blade to cut on a table. The adhesive is strong when applied to a clean surface.

Better CLD than many more expensive brands.

It's a good quality constrained layer dampener. Butyl and a nice thick foil. It has been tested by other companies even and ranks better than all but a handful of much more expensive products. Some people question if the adhesive(butyl) is good enough to last, I live in Texas, it's been 112 degrees many days over the last few weeks and it's held up inside the doors and on the back firewall just fine. It's made a significant difference in the noise levels inside my 02 crew cab too.
