Good until it stopped working..
Bought this about a year and a half ago. It's simple, but worked well until it started having problems. It will no longer read any CD's or USB drives and just displays error code E3. I've never had a unit crap out this early. Obviously, not very happy with it now.

Not disappointed!
Great Factory Replacement for my 2003 Ford Expedition.
This stereo/MP3 player is an great and easy to install replacement for the factory head unit. Excellent price from Sonic - and by using the wiring harness (don't even try without it!) and the install kit, it was a breeze to install.
The new unit keeps the factory install look and sounds great!
Neat features and great sound!

Nice stereo
Stereo is awesome. Love the features but did not fit as smooth in my ford ranger 2002. Had to do some trimming to my dash for fitment. Not always a good idea.

Great for the $$$$$$$
Excellent sound and easy installation. I would recommend this unit for all that need a double din.

Very Happy with this Purchase
I love the USB feature, and the extras like the cables and faceplate included. For the price this is a great deal. I put it into my 2002 civic and its a big improvement. This is not the top of the line model but suits my needs just fine.

Panasonic
Good low end replacement. The double din looks good installed but the trim ring didn't exactly fit right. You have to whittle it down with a knife to get it to fit. The sound is acceptable but not much power. But then it was pretty cheap too so I guess I am satisfied overall.

Excellent Value Overall
I purchased this to replace a factory unit in a 2007 XTerra. I paid an extra $10 for an antenna adapter which was not needed.
It does everything I want - MP3 playback, USB/AUX (Go USB!!!) input, matches the stock interior and is very plain.
I wanted a unit that would fit my requirements, not cost a lot and not stand out as a target for theft.
The power is excellent, it drives the stock speakers quite nicely. The weather band radio (which I overlooked at first) is a nice option, because I travel a lot.
If I could change one thing, I would give it a rear USB connection so I could thread the cable into the glove box and hide my MP3 player and thumb drives.
I actually have no complaints about this device, it is what it is and I would highly recommend it to someone who wanted an affordable unit with current technology.
(I gave it low score on Durability, because I've only had it a couple months.)

grrreeat deal
A stock look with good basic functions. Included ipod cable. I had to customize install watch for that with double din. great bang for buck!

Good Value Overall
Purchased receiver to replace OEM unit that started skipping when playing CDs. Easy to install, but unit protrudes out slightly on the center console. Sound quality is good. Would like to see separate buttons for the different modes (AM, FM, CD, MP3, iPod, etc.) rather than having to toggle through a menu. Found it more convenient to use functions on iPod than on the receiver.

Super Radio
This impressive unit plays MP3 discs, and has a good range of auxiliary inputs, which I appreciate. My wife can use her ipod on this unit, I can use my Zen, and we can also use flash drives. They all work great! The weather band radio is also a nice feature. It's a good solid stereo - the sound adjustments are basic, but it does put out nice sound. I had a fancy $200 Pioneer for about a year, but you seriously had to be a rocket scientist to operate the thing, it was not user friendly at all. This radio is.

gary hoyt
This radio has been in my super duty for one yr. now bouncing along the highway w/o ever skipping on the CD. The radio has always worked flawlessly and so has the thumb.
Why this was discontinued I'll never know-A quality product from Panasonic to say the least. Price was $114- no ship free wire harness/adapter/.

Heavy duty
This came free with my radio, so to me it was a great value, but: This thing has a thick cord! Along with its length, it's hard to find where to store all the excess cable. I don't know why they couldn't just make it so it charges the ipod too, that is silly. Other than that, it works the way a cord should. Wish it was thinner and shorter.

Definite Upgrade
I bought this radio as a replacement to the stock unit in a 2003 Suzuki Aerio that had failed. The included mounting bracket is not needed as the original mounting bracket fits right up and works much better, except with four screws instead of eight due to hole alignment. Four screws plus the rear socket mount holds it very securely but four additional holes could be drilled. The dashboard surround pulls straight off and must be trimmed around the radio opening to fit back into place, which I did with a dremel tool. The trim piece that comes with the radio is also not needed.
The only problem I had is with electrical hookup. I received the connector kit from Sonic, which fits the Aerio harness, but the end that connects to the radio, and the fuse, were not included in the box. A phone call to Sonic resulted in a promise to mail the missing parts but they never materialized. I had to drive to a neighboring town and purchase these parts from an audio store for $20.
Sound quality is noticeably improved compared to the stock unit. Usability is good. The double-DIN size is nice in that there is room for real buttons that don't require a magnifying glass and delicate touch to operate. Lots of features. Great value.

Great Sound
I installed this unit into a 2005 Nissan Frontier went in in a 1/2 hour. Wire harness came with unit and worked well. Great sound with stock speakers. Sonic said to purchase a antenna adapter for additional $5.00 but it was not needed for my vehicle.

Never Use Cd's Again
I bought this because My panasonic deck was skipping with certain frequencies, and now with the ipod connected to the deck, It hasn't skipped yet !, which is fantastic. The ease of use of this is a piece of cake, just control the deck to go through your ipod, very simple! Plus you won't have to burn mp3 cds every so often, just change your music everynight !

Great item.
Brand name I trusted. So far, so very good. I have had no problems at all. Easy installation, easy set-up, big button I never miss to control it.
Recommended, seller friendly and nice, happy to buy from Sonic.

Excellent product, stock look
I bought this to replace the stock unit in my 1993 Lexus LS400 and wanted to keep the stock look. This unit fits the overall look of the center dash perfectly. I like the USB input, which I always use with USB flash drives, and I use the front AUX input for my iPod. It also has the usual CD player with MP3 capability. The downside is that there are no RCA outputs on the rear which may be troublesome for those who want a subwoofer or RCA connected speakers. Also, the kit that is provided for this headunit has to modified for this headunit to fit. I whittled it down with a knife and then put the trim surround provided with the headunit on top of that to hide the irregular cutting indentations.

Excellent Value
Everything woks as advertised. The usb input is a much used feature . Weather radio locked right in on our local transmitter. The unit arrived in a timely manner. As a former electronic tech I can attest to Panasonic's excellent reputation for reliability. I still think it's a bargain, for a double din deck @ the current $124....

Very nice Radio
It brought it for my 09 Nissan Versa 1.6L Base.
It Blended in with my interior Black Color...just perfect. From a distance it is difficult to say if the radio was a aftermarket or original one.
The only thing which was missing in the instruction was about the blue wire on the antenna adapter The radio and all other features worked very good but it had very poor radio reception. It would pickup only 1 or 2 radio stations . After a good research on the web, came to know that Versa had a +12v Powered Antenna system. After connecting the blue wire to +12v (RED Wire)the radio pickup all the stations.
I have tested all the features and all of them works perfectly.
I used the original Metal Mounting bracket from the Versa's dummy radio plate and two cable adapter(1)-power and other (2)-antenna from the kit. The original front plate from panasonic could not be used.Versa's front bezel fitted perfectly.
I am glad that I picked up this (2Din) radio although it did not have any review.

Good value
Fit the dash using install kit, wiring harness was easy to use. Not great, but by no means lousy either. Ordered for an older car to replace the factory radio that died. Changed the unit and the 4 speakers for a value upgrade of the system - good value for the money, would buy again, definitely would buy from Sonic.

iPod Connection Works Perfectly after Expensive Expert Installation
This iPod connection to the Strada Panasonic radio system (CN-NVD905U) works beautifully after it is installed, provided you read the Strada manual and can afford the installation. I can listen to my iPod, switch tracks, pause it (using the Audio off button on the SRCE screen), shuffle, etc. and switch back to the Navigator by clicking the Map button. The major downside is that you have to have an expert install the connection, which cost me $130 at a Tiffin RV Dealer. That's much more expensive than the cable itself. However, it's the BEST solution for those of us who want to use an iPod for entertainment while driving a Tiffin Motorcoach.

Good Solid Radio
I did the install myself (first time since 1985) piece of cake. I replaced an older double din deck from my wife's 91 Miata. This deck is shorter and will leave a small space (about 1/2") below the deck but otherwise it fit fine. For the price this is a good deal.

Great product
I bought this to go with my Panasonic head unit and it was the perfect compliment to my iPod Nano. The only bad thing is that due to the generation gap of the iPod, this cable does not facilitate the charging of the Nano (latest gen.) but all in all it is still a great idea for those Panasonic unit owners.

A no frills, stock appearance, great head unit
I bought this to replace my stock head unit in a 1999 Volvo V70. I didn't want a flashy double din radio, and this Panasonic fit the bill. It has all the modern amenities you'd except, although I wish it had a rear aux input. However, radio reception is great, MP3 CD and weather radio are awesome to have, and overall, I'm satisfied. I'd call this radio an excellent value if the stock look is what you're after.

Good Receiver, so so install kit
I installed this receiver in my 07 Ford Ranger. The sound quality is a huge improvement over stock. My only complaint is with the install kit. I removed the material from the top and bottom of the opening, but the receiver would not fit the opening on the sides. To make it work I had to remove some material from the mounting brackets to make them thinner. Also, the trim piece that comes with the Scosche kit does not fit this receiver. The receiver is such a tight fit that it looks quite well without the trim piece, but I'm wondering why it doesn't fit. Is it possible that all double DINs are not the same dimension? Also, neither the receiver, nor the install kit come with the 5mm screws required to mount the brackets to the receiver. I picked some up at Home Depot. Last complaint: wiring instructions for both the receiver and the Scosche wiring adapter had mistakes. Take your time and you should be able to figure it out as I did.
Great receiver for the money, but installation was somewhat challenging.

Excellent Deck
After weeks of researching the best option to substitute the factory head unit on my 2005 Ford Escape I purchased this one and it works great, has plenty of audio options (CD, USB, AUX), and fits well with the interior design of the car - day or night. Had to find the right kit to make it fit though.

Great service
I ordered the Panasonic CQ-5800U while it was on backorder. Within a few days, I received a telephone call from Sonic Electronix letting me know the product was on backorder. I was offered alternative items that were in stock. The customer service representative was very friendly and helpful. I decided to wait for this product, and within a week it was shipped to me. When I received the stereo, the harness to plug into the back of the stereo was not included. I called Sonic Electronix and let them know the harness was missing and it was quickly mailed to me. The customer service rep actually remembered me from when he called about the stereo being on backorder!
Although it would have been ideal if the harness was initially included with the original shipment-- the issue was resolved so quickly and without any trouble, that I didn't mind at all.
The stereo looks great and was exactly what I was looking for-- there are very few other stereos with the understated "normal" look I wanted.

Amazing if you want to keep that factory look!!!!
This head unit is awesome. If you are contemplating getting it, go for it!!
I own a ford explorer and was looking for better sound without having to get one of those flashy, colorful head units and this is perfect for that! Great Sound quality over factory and really makes those speakers work! Install was easy as could be about 30 mins!! (I have installed radios before though, so i know the basics)

Nice!
I have this hooked up to the 7" Panasonic dvd deck. It is incredible how easy it is to use the functions of my Ipod through the touch screen of my deck. This Ipod hook-up is the second best purchase, aside from the deck.

Simple Beauty
It does what it's supposed to do, as simple as that. I've owned a standard Panasonic deck, and now I have a 6.5" DVD player. It works great with both. While this piece of equipment isn't pretty visually, it's a piece of audio bliss. The length allows you to place your IPod where ever you please.
