Best bang for my buck.

this radio is hands down the best receiver ive owned, it has it all from the aux outputs to the ipod connectivity. it gave me ease of turning my not so great sounding car speakers into excellent sounding car speakers, i am absolutely impressed of what the outcome was, pros: beautiful look, excellent accessories, ipod tagging on am & fm(not hybrid digital radio(HD), just regular radio, excellent sound, sound quality was greatly enhanced, awesome bluetooth. Cons: a little difficult to manage the radio at first , a little confusing for the first day, remote control could be bigger and handheld for a more of a manly feel LOL. i would recommend this deck to anyone and everyone. at 300 bucks it was well worth every penny and i applaud SonicElectroniX for the extremely fast shipping.

Purchased from Sonic Electronix

This stereo cd/receiver is amazing! The high-voltage pre-outs provide an amazing signal to my amps, the 2 USB inputs are amazing and let you conceal them anywhere in your car, the bluetooth I don't use but I have tried it out and is also amazing. This unit has so many bands for the equalizer that you can finetune your sound to your own 2 custom presets in addition to the factory presets to get the best out of your system. It includes a remote for back-seat passengers and a steering wheel remote which I love (although it doesn't always work so because I put mine on the left side of my steering wheel (US vehicle). I am saddened that it did not have HD Radio built-in, but you can purchase the add-on. I do not have an iPod and never will, but you can control yours from the deck if you have one. I was very excited that I could browse my thumb drives and other USB devices and play music; however, I was very disappointed when I spend $200 on a self-powered USB drive and accessories, as I read that this unit was built to work with external drives... Pioneer stated via phone that they do not support external drives at this time... Overall, I would definitely buy this product again. More importantly, I would purchase more products from Sonic Electrix again, as I have purchased from them about 15 times thus far and have never been disappointed in the quality, price, speed and rates of shipments, and overall service. Great buy and great service. Thank you Sonic Electronix! :)

Pioneer PREMIER!!!!

This deck is fabulous! there is only one con that i can find. The joystick is a little touchy, but just be more careful and you don't have to worry about it. if you're trying to push something from the side the laws of physics will make it move to the side! I love the EQ on this radio! & bands let you get the sound you want! plus there are 2 custom EQ's for you to shape. I set one for rock and country, and the other for rap and R&B. plus each source has different EQ's, you dont have to worry about how radio stations are mixed differently than a cd. there is also the background display that changes colors, but you get used to it. The sound retriever also brings back some sound lost in recording for a great listening experience. Dual USB ports let you bring along even more music as well as an 1/8th jack to plug into an mp3 player. I have had no problems with the bluetooth at all! connects to the phone fast, connects with a call fast, just make sure you read the manual and learn to do it right. I have nothing but praise for this head unit!

I am looking forward to this product if I want to have a upgrade.

Good overall

This headunit is packed full of features. The bluetooth is for sure convenient but sometimes the other person has a hard time hearing what I say. Center button takes a little getting use to, the sound customization options are very nice and give you a lot of control. Great overall unit, would definitely buy again.

This is by far the BEST HU I have ever owned!!!!!

It takes a little getting used to at first but this head unit is insane. the sound quality is incredible. right out of the box i didn't even have to change any settings. it sounded awesome. Of course i'm gonna tweak it so it makes my sub hit harder and clearer. Bluetooth streaming audio is exceptional as well. Make sure your phone is compatible with the streaming. The display is gorgeous also. The equalizer settings are nice if you really wanna tweak your sound staging. Another good sound feature is the Advanced Sound Retriever. It actually does what its supposed to. I have some mp3s on my iPod that are a little muffled and the ASR gives the songs more life with better treble and bass!
OVERALL THIS IS ONE BADA** Receiver!!!!!

Recommend it with reservations

I bought the unit because I wanted quality: Sound, Bluetooth(phone), and iPod controls. I was also excited that it had a steering wheel remote.

After having it installed for about a month I really like the phone features. I mounted the mic on the roof above my rear view mirror. So far every one I talk to says the sound quality is good. I like the "voice" features that let me call people on my phone list. So far they work good.

The iPod features are nice, but I wish the display was larger for scrolling. Sometimes when I leave my iPod plugged in, the unit doesn't automatically recognize it when I turn it on. (All I have to do is un-plug it and plug it back in. Annoying).

I'm disappointed that the steering wheel remote doesn't work when it is mounted on the left side of my steering wheel. It does work on the right side, but when it's mounted there it blocks my gas gauge. I've read a lot of other reviews that mention that they have problems with the remote too.

Also, the features the unit has are extensive, but using them can be a hassle, and require a lot of "studying" the user manual. I also think some of the graphics look kind of like a video game from the 80's. I think Pioneer could have done a better job. The main control wheel can be kind of hard to use since it is very sensitive. Sometimes I end up pushing the "left or down" button when I was trying to press the "center" button to select.

I'd recommend the unit for sound quality, bluetooth phone, but expect to spend time getting used to controlling the features.

Great sound and price!

Very easy to operate and excellent sound quality. Many adjustments for the level of bass and trebel which enhances the sound even more.

Nice unit, a couple minor complaints though

Overall, yes I recommend this head unit. Great sound quality and lots of options for the display and sources to choose from.

When in random playback skipping the track will take you to the next track in order - not random.

The BT mic is weak and I sound fuzzy to the people I call (yes it is mounted on my visor as specified by Pioneer).

When listening to songs from a memory stick hitting the list button ALWAYS takes you back to the first artist alphabetically, you can't go back to the artist you are currently listening to which forces you to do a lot of scrolling every time you changes artists/or albums.

Otherwise still a great piece of technology. I LOVE having all my music accessible on mem sticks.

I expected more for the price

The 710BT offers lots of features, some of them good, some not so good.

BT works extremely well, probably one of the better implementations I've used. iPod control is also very good for a HU control. Better than many others.

There are lots of nice features like being able to switch the display between multiple layouts, voice command, a large array of input options, SW controls, 7-band EQ, and many more. I can't think of any other HU that offers the shear amount of features that you can find on at this price point.

The display offers lots of options from 3-line text information, to graphic images, and even VU meters. If the display is a major concern for you, you will be very pleased with this HU's display offerings. The display is crisp and clean, it does reflect quite a bit though, and since there is no tilt option, you'll find yourself placing your hand in front of the display to read it.

The included steering-wheel remote is practically useless. It uses infrared, so you need line-of-sight for it to work. However it mounts to your steering wheel, which is constantly moving and losing line-of-sight.

I don't use the built-in amp, but it is very powerful, and has very low distortion. I was able to turn it almost completely up without any distortion at all. Very clean. The 4V pre-outs are fairly clean, but I did get a bit of noise on my amps with them at lower gain levels.

For sound features, it offers a 7-band EQ, HPF & LPF, Subwoofer phase, adjustable source levels, balance, fader, loudness, and bass boost. There are 5 preset EQ settings, and 2 custom settings. You can modify the 2 custom settings.

That sounds like a lot of sound adjustment options, but I had a really hard time getting my system to sound good with these. I'm running 2 pairs of Infiinty Reference components in the doors, with an Infinity amp powering them. I'm also running an Infinity 10" sub in the trunk with a mono amp. My last HU offered Time Adjustment and a 9-band EQ. I set it initially and rarely touched it after that. The sound stage was very impressive with the old unit. I can't seem to replicate that with the 710BT.

I tried creating a decent sound stage using the balance & fader settings, but it always seemed the sound was coming from just below the dash. I then tried adjusting the EQ. One of the custom settings allows adjustments on each frequency in 6db increments, while the other offers 6-4 db increments. I find these to be somewhat limited. The sound always seems a little muddy to me. I figured I would turn off the sub, and use the crossovers to get the comps sounding as good as possible, but no matter what I do, I can't get the sound as flat as I would like. I didn't think I would miss the TA settings, but it seems they would have been very handy. Also there is no level adjustment for the sub, so I have to keep running back to the trunk to adjust it.

All in all if you don't care much about sound quality you'll probably like the features of this unit. If you want your music to sound good, you might want to look elsewhere.

Good value, but...

This unit has great sound and provides a lot of features for the money, however there are a few nuances that are a bit irritating at times. The inability to set the display to where it won't swap the background and text colors back and forth is obnoxious at night and can be a distraction - this takes some getting used to. The bluetooth also works well for connecting to my phone (Samsung Omnia), but often times it takes several seconds to connect when making a phone call - roughly 50% of the time when I use the hands-free verbal command option (e.g. "call Bobby Bouche"), however, it doesn't even relay that command to the phone. Obviously, this somewhat defeats the purpose of hands-free... when it does work, the microphone works excellent. The cord for the microphone was plenty long, which definitely made installation a lot easier. The wireless remote should have had an "enter" button to make navigating the menus easier.

I bought this Premier deck 6 months ago and its been nothing but fantastic. It has so many features, the music sounds incredible and is worth the price. I have never had any problems with any Pioneer decks and will continue to buy more.
