Great product. These speakers are extremely loud and they do not require a great amount of power to produce great sound.

Sounds Great

I bought these for a cooler stereo I built. I hooked them up to a 240 watt marine amp and they have been able to handle everything. I play all kinds of music and they sound great for all genres. I have received numerous compliments on their sound quality. The fact they are marine makes them that much better. A great speaker for a great price.

PIONEER TS-MR2040 ROCK ON.

Great sounding 8 inch speakers.Tough to, You can spray water right in them and they still sound great. Great bass, I bought 4 for my boat with pioneer hi output super tuner with no amp and still get loud enough for me.

Good marine speaker

I have a total of 8 of these in a small skiff that sank and was under salt water for 6 hr. and still performed after for months. The highs and mids are good, bass is ok. The company Sonic was very prompt with my order.

good clear sound

Before purchasing the pioneer mr2040 speakers i was able to compare them to the : kickers,alpine, infinity, kenwood and jl's. The pioneers had a very noticeable higher guilty sound over all the others, even at max volumn. And the price at sonic electronics is definitly easier on the pocket. I cannot rate durability because I just bought them, ask me about that next year. I will say they appear to be made very well. Yes I would recommend them. Pros: clean crisp sound, quality product. Cons: negative terminal is smaller and does not fit standard crimp on lugs, not made in america!

Great sounding speakers

I'm pushing these speakers with a 150 watt stereo amp and they sound great. They take up a lot of space but for my application it wasn't a problem. I've used the 6.5 inch version and they sound great also and only takes up half the space.

I've had this speaker in my boat all summer. Great performance and lasting durability. It has often got wet and still works very well.

Great value, perfect, love them

Perfect sound and bass. I have a 22 foot boat that I put two of them in no amp. Running wide open 5500RPM you can hear them just fine. Love them.

Best Value Marine Speaker on the Market!

The Pioneer TS-MR2040 8" speaker has been in production for years now. For $89.99 with free shipping (no sales tax) you simply cannot beat it. I'll put the 2040's against Rockford Fosgate & JL Audio's & Alpine's 8" speakers & they will sound just as good IMHO for a 1/3 or 1/2 the price!

What I also appreciate is the template they give you on the outside of the box (very useful) for installation. The plastic covers hold-up very well over time (no fading) If you do any type of search for online reviews you'll see there are countless happy Pioneer speaker people out there.

I have a 2-channel set-up (with a Clarion XN-3210 amp 90 WPC) on my Seaway 24 & they simply ROCK! There is a reason why they have been around so long, because they sound great and they are priced right.

Great Speakers

I looked at many other speakers because I thought I needed to spend more money. The advice from my Sonic rep put me into these fantastic sounding Pioneer speakers that all my friends compliment while skipping across the water.

Been going strong for 7 years

Put these in my 2000 Caravelle 209 BR as replacement rear speakers. Now don't expect JL quality, but for the budget minded they have been great.
