power acoustik cw2-124

Was a decent subwoofer til the cone came apart from the VC and spider due to over excision otherwise can definitely handle power just not for long

Sounded great while they worked

I wired two of these up to my 1800 watt rms amp at 1 ohm and they sounded great...for a week. I was driving along, amp turned on only 1/4 of the way up and the stereo about the same and they both shut off instantly. I shut off the stereo and didn't turn it on until I had my multimeter. One had split between the cone and the spider and the other is almost froze up reading 15Moh. These should not have had a problem being only turned up 1/4 of the way. They were rated almost perfectly with the amp.

Power Acoustik CW2-124

Listen people. That's what I need for you guys here to do. These speakers for the money are awesome. They have great bass response and actually run the rms watts that they are rated to run. They sound awesome and pound pretty hard for some low cost twelves. buy you a pair or more, install them and then write a review here and thank me for recommending them to you. Thanks Sonic Electronix for the abundance of info on these subs and having some of the best products on the market redily available and always fast ontime shipping.

killer thumpin sub

I am totally satisfied with this sub......it is hooked up to a Planet Audio 750 watt rms amp at a 2 ohm load....I had a Pyle 650 watt sub that I replaced ith this Power Acoustic and it sounds way better....the bass is punchier and it seems to hit just a little bit harder with more definition....all I listen to is heavy metal and hard rock,i can really feel ithe bass drum hit in my chest like never before.....I am 100 % satisfied with it so far, although it's really only been a couple of days and time will be the true test of endurance....I like my music loud...
I think that this speaker will be a solid performing unit for a long time...I had one other 12" power acoustic some years ago and it always sounded excellent and punchy and held up to much more power than it was rated for with no probs....hope fully this one will do the same...I have faith...

How to blow apart a sub box 101

Well, I bought these thinking that they were good but not to extreme. so I put them in a sealed box and had them wired together at 1 Ohm. connected them to my amp and was drivin down the road breaking them in. About 2-3 weeks later after they were broken in, I decided I wanted to see what they had meaning power wise. So I had my amp up to 3000 watts and I'm cruising and I start to hear something cracking so I stopped and pulled over and saw the box I had started cracking. I was amazed and I am extremely happy with the results. Oh by the way I had these subs in my f150 with not a lot of room. I would suggest you get a big enough box for these or a ported box.

More Bang for the Buck

I decided to upgrade my subwoofer system. I was using a single slot ported box with a Kicker CVR-12" dual 4 ohm voice-coil sub, powered by an Alpine monoblock amp (500 w RMS @ 2 ohm). It was okay in my Lexus LS 400 but I needed more. I purchased a box for dual subs with a single centered slot port and put my Kicker on one side of the box. I purchased the Power Acoustik and put it on the other side of the box. I'm only using one of the voice coils on each speaker to prevent my amp from dropping to a 1 ohm load (which it can't handle), so i'm running both speakers in parallel at a total 2 ohm load. You could see the difference in how the Power Acoustik put out the low end compared to the Kicker - it was no contest. I purchased the mate for my CW2-124 and installed it in place of the Kicker and my bass is strong, solid, and low. I'm completely satisfied with the Power Acoustik subs and would recommend them to anyone. I can be heard before I get seen when I feel like it, or just ride comfortably with the windows down, and feel the bass in my chest. Kudos to SONIC ELECTRONIX for great products at a great price. I'm coming back to replace this amp soon too.

Got them today super quick shipping! Installed them and all I can say is WOW!!! I only bought one,and pretty much is all I need in a sub. i drove around the block turned it up a 1/4 of the way and a good minute before getting back to my street my wife heard me coming. LOL beat the last sub I had really bad! If you buy this sub you won't be disappointed at all. it HITS really hard, and I only have a 600 rms amp hooked up to it.

Complete garbage, waste of money!

I had this sub for two days running on a 550 rms Alpine amp, it blew the second day, yet they claim it's 850rms/2000max, they won't refund my money or cover a blown speaker, DO NOT BUY. I would be using offensive language, but due to request not to I won't, just to make sure this is posted. TRASH, GARBAGE, PAPER WEIGHT! THANKS FOR NOTHING!
