Excellent why build custom?!

I have this paired to a 750 Prime RF amp. I burned in the speaker in accordance with the recommended time and just turned up the gain yesterday. I have never had this much bass in a car it is outstanding. I recommend.

Rockford p-3 12"

The pros of the Rockford p3 12" are a deep hard hitting bass with lots of air flow if put in the right inclosure, it has a looser hit compared to the kicker comp r. But I would still recommend this sub to anyone who likes a deep rumbling bass.

Awesome Sub - Bumps!!!

First sub for my car (07 Scion TC) and absolutely love it!! Paired it with a 800w pioneer amp and the thing works perfectly. Would definitely recommend if anyone is looking to add some thump to their drive. Shakes my back window and pounds the interior. Cant get enough of it! Love it! Had Best Buy install and havent had a problem. Best bang for the buck especially for someone who is looking for a fast way to add bass to their car

Rockford Fosgate P3-1X12

Very deep, heavy, yet precise bass output for only a 600 watt sub.

Great Sub

Can't go wrong with Rockford Fosgate... This sub does what it's supposed to do. Just as advertised... Better appreciated if you play your music LOUD!

The sub is a bit bulky so you'd better be prepared to sacrifice trunk space and the grille is not included.

Finally got it

Been waiting all week for this bad boy. Hits very hard and sounds clean and crisp. Looks great in my car and fits just how I wanted it to. Nice and solid build, I'm sure it will last a nice long time.

Nice sound for a good price

Love this sub! Great amount of sound for such a small package. I easily make more noise than a friends dual 12" setup. Only thing I don't like is that it's so big. I'm going to have to downgrade soon just because the size takes up a lot of space in my car. This one is going in the excursion though and after a test run it's got plenty of boom too fill the truck.

Great buy!

This is a very power hungry sub and it makes it that much better! The ported box makes for some very clean but still hard hitting bass. I recommend this to anyone that still wants trunk room and still lots of bass.

Excellent product

Recognized quality product, I am owner of subwoofer and loudspeakers for 15 years ago and have always had good experience, also merit to the Sonic Electronix site like it all went very well. Thank you.

Bump!

Wanted some hard bump in my excursion that I could remove easy but still fill all the space......bangs hard and takes the punishment! I have mine on a mb quart onyx 1.1000 and a kenwood hu and it goes so hard! I can't wait to put a fosgate amp on it just for a little cleaner power....hard thumps and gets low! Sonics price and return policy is a no brainer...buy it now!

Gets it done

I think it could sound better in a better box. Beyond this it still sounds great and most people will be perfectly fine with it.

Better than good!

This sub can produce an amazing amount of bass with great sound quality, it is NOT an competition Spl sub!. I heard Helix SPL 12 which was pushed by Helix competition amp, and it was pretty much car shaking, airflow, can hear the sub move, but couldn’t really hear that deep, heart stopping bass. So, for those who wish to understand the difference in SPL and SQ, P3 doesn’t have that typhoon SPL power for hairtricks, but the bass is deep, rich, musical and sounds amazing! I am so happy I ended up with this speaker. I just regret not buying two and connect it with p1000 amp. Trust me, it is not all about the SPL. You need a sub which is musical and which can be pushed.

Good sounding sub!

I purchased this sub in the prefab box about 2-3 months ago because I didn't want to go through all that trouble of designing a custom box because where I live that comes expensive. Also I wanted to drop it in my trunk for "friendly easy install" purpose. When I just got it, it didn't sound that good honestly. It was "misbehaving". I thought I made a mistake purchasing it. I have contacted the RF customer services and was told that because the sub is new it needs to break in. So, I gave it about 1-2 months time, listening to music at moderate level, didn't really push it, but now, about 3 months later, the sub is much softer and much more "forgiving" when pushed. The amount of bass that this thing can produce redefines the word impossible. It produces a lot of SPL, shakes a lot of things in my car and gives you that smile when the bass punches. I found it performing better with Techno tunes than Rap, but so far the sub is sounding better and better as the time go buy. I would suggest, if you want a more clear bass, and more accurate, get an 8", or max 10"... But 12" is way beyond normal.

Good, but one is nor enough

This sub, I must say, plays very good. I listen to hip hop, dub step, house, and it really delivers the bass notes accurately. It is being pushed by t500 fosgate amp. Never had any problems. Only regret I have is I didn't buy the P3 2x12 and run them with t1500 fosgate amp. If anyone is thinking of getting a 1x12, just go with 2x12. And a larger amp. These subs can handle way above the rms ratings.

Deafening loud!!

I spent a lot of time on internet reading which sub to purchase, and was focusing mostly on the good reviews explaining which bass has the deepest bass. Well I purchased this P3 just about a week ago and it is still in the break in period. I matched it with T500x1br Rockford Amp. It is a good combination, amp drives the sub easy. However, it have the sub in the back of my 2014 Mazda 3 Hatch, and i must say in order to fully get the best output of the sub, it needs to be pushed, and it has a very loud bass outcome... max of 5-10 minutes and I couldn't take it anymore longer... It hits very very hard, and my gains are not even up to 50%. My review is that the sub is too strong for Mazda 3 hatch... maybe for a bigger vehicle... Also, pls be noted if you are playing mp3, make sure your file size is 300 kbs above, otherwise the bass wouldn't sound as clear.

I definitely should've bought two!

I have one P3 1X12, on a RF power amp, and the only mistake is that I didn't buy the P3 2X12. This was a big mistake which I regret. Now I am thinking on getting another 1X12, upgrade my AMP, and install it all over again. These subs are rated at 600wrms, but let me tell you, they can handle a lot more, so in order to fully enjoy them, my suggestion is to go at least 800wrms amp per sub. AT LEAST! I am feeding some 550, and if I want to get louder, my amp will start sending the clipping signal and fun is all over. So to make the long story short, buy the 2 sub enclosure, and T1500 rockford amp, and you will definitely be golden!

Good for Rap, not for rock!

I had this sub for already over a year. It plays good with electronic music such as rap, house, techno, and it feels it likes to hammer that "thump" tunes. But when I play punk rock, or metal, it disappoints. So if you are a fan of electronic music and like to listen to the latest club tunes, this sub will give you the thrills. but if you want to listen to anything else such as country, rock, then better look away. One more thing, it is 600 Wrms sub, so I would suggest to get at least an 800 w rms amp to run it, since the sub is asking for more power.

Sonic is an Outstanding operation

Rockford P3 just hangs that’s all I can say. Sonic is the place I do business with after my initial purchase.

I like it.. But

This sub is nasty. I had it for a few days and i am not dissapointed. I will say that if you have a box that has more space for the sub, it would sound a whole lot better but it still wangs. I don't have it broken in yet but it rattles my seats and rear view mirror. Got it hooked to a Hifonics Brutus 1000w @ 2ohms (700 RMS) and just waiting till it gets warm so i can turn the gain up. Def get it!!

Replaced a Kicker Comp R 1000w peak
