Great Radar Unit

I have used this unit for quite a while now and am very impressed with the way it works. It let's me know when to slow down as it should. This is the best radar detector on the market for the money, especially with the jamming capabilities that are available with this unit.I have owned and still own newer Escort and BEL radar units that have failed me. So far the Rocky Mountain Radar RMR-C475 is on the top of my list as the best radar detector out there at a considerable savings over the other brands.

Great product!

RMR products are great! I currently own the C475 and it works great. I previously owned the C435 and must say that it saved my tail from many speeding citations. The scramble feature really does work...I was skeptical at first, but it proved me wrong. Get an RMR product and I'm sure you wont regret it!

great radar detector/scrambler

I've done a lot of traveling using this detector and haven't got a ticket yet.(knock on wood) my detector has saved me a few times when it would go off and I would look at my speed and see I was going to fast. and with the scrambler on it gives me a little extra time to get slowed down. I love this detector and would recommend it to anyone.

RMR-C475

VERY RESPONSIVE, QUICK TO ALERT OF RADAR UP AHEAD, TO THE SIDES AND BEHIND YOU. I REALLY LIKE THE AUTO DARK FEATURE COMPARED TO MY OLD RMR C450. I HAVE VERY FEW VEHICLES FOLLOWING CLOSE BEHIND NOW WITH THAT FEATURE. IT ONLY LIGHTS UP WHEN YOU ARE PICKING UP A SIGNAL. I REALLY LIKE THE FACT THAT IT CLOAKS YOU FROM RADAR UNITS. I HAD EXCELLENT SERVICE FROM THE C450 WHICH WAS DISCONTINUED AND SO FAR THE C475 HAS MET ALL MY EXPECTATIONS . IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS !!!

Not Recommend!

I drive on highway three times a week. The RMR-C475 does not detect highway police vehicles, nor in the city. I have encountered several police officers with speed detectors and not a bip from this radar. The only thing it detects is traffic lights cameras in the city.

Disapointed

I was given the impression that with VG2 the detector would be invisible to detection. On a trip into Canada I was pulled over by Police, charged for having the detector and the unit was confiscated. I was driving within the speed limit at the time of the incident.

Great unit!!

I have used RMR units for over 10 years now. I avg. roughly 50k mi./yr. I have had almost every brand of detector,at some time or another, and have stuck with these. The last ticket I got was with a Passport over 10 years ago. Thats when a friend turned me to the Rocky Mountain Radar. I've been a firm believer since. The only issue I've had with these units is the speaker goes out in a little over a year. However, if you are handy with tools, 5 minutes and about 5 bucks can fix it with a stop off at your local RS.

Disappointed!

I was really looking forward to trying out my radar detector.
In the city it detects camera's and other radars, but on the highway with no mountains around. Went right past a state patrol with a laser gun, and not a beep. I wasn't speeding, but was very disappointed the radar didn't do its job. I've got a RA # and it's going back for a refund. :(((

RMR-C475

Pros: works great. detects radar and laser from a great distance which give you plenty of time to slow down. Jammer seems to work well also.

Cons: after a few months of use I have noticed it doesn't pick up ka band from any distance other than right on top of it. Auto dark function has never worked so I leave it on bright, but that's no big deal. LCD display is hard to read during the day. If I was going to buy another one I would get the model without LCD.

A great product

I've owned Rocky Mountain Radars for years and recently ordered 2 of the RMR-C475. There are some nice improvements to this version with 3 suction cups on the window mount versus the 2 on previous models. This model seems to have better filters to avoid false signals. There is only one time in all the years I've had a Rocky Mountain Radars that I've gotten a ticket and that was because I turned off the volume. They are a great product. I've had no problem with this model so far, but in the past models the speaker has gone out after 2 years. Will have to wait and see if that problem has been addressed on this model.

Very high tech, works excellent

The unit is awsum works incredably well, but please remember anyone that has eyes, like a cop can physically see the unit onyour windshield warrenting an officer to pull you over just for that, also remember that just because the unit performs well the officer can still pull you over is he gets whats called a "visual" on your speed and warrent you a speeding ticket based solely on your visual speed no electronics used. all that aside I love the performance of this product,..!

Rocky Mountain Radar RMR-C475

I have purchased 5 Rocky Mountain Radars over the years. This is the best so far. The upgrades are great with the new mute/ no lights button and the range and distance help keep me from getting a ticket.
I would recommend this unit to every one.

Kinda Works

Seems like it works sometimes. But I have already got one speeding ticket with this in my truck. The cop even wrote radar detector on the ticket. But it has worked at least one other time, but this scrambler is not to be trusted.

BEST I'VE EVER HAD

I'VE HAD MANY RADAR DETECTORS IN MY 50 YEARS OF DRIVING AND THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN RADAR C475 IS BY FAR THE BEST ONE I HAVE WEVER OWNED. I'M ALWAYS AMAZED HOR FAR IT WILL PICK UP A SIGNAL. IN OUR TOWN WE HAVE SIX POLICE OFFICERS THAT WERE HIRED TO GIVE OUT 8 SPEEDING TICKETS A DAY TO PAY FOR THEM, THE CAR THEY DRIVE, HEALTH CARE, ETC. AND BRING IN A PROFIT FOR THE TOWNSHIP. (WE CALL THEM THE "WOLF PACK"). THANKS ROCKY MOUNTAIN

We own one and have enjoyed having it!!! We both have a heavy foot when it comes to speeding and the C475 has saved us numerous times. We are having a problem now tho in that the speaker has stopped working even tho the rest of the unit works fine. Some one mentioned going to Radio Shack for a quick fix for this problem. Please give us some more information about what to get and what to do to fix the speaker problem. We have had this unit for about 3 years with no problem until now.
