Worked for a week then KILLED MY BATTERY and died

For those that dont already know, alot of these Scosche dash kits have been known to cause the car's battery to drain and erractic electrical system malfuctions in and unfortunately I just found out the hard way. I installed the kit a little over a week ago and today when I went to start my car, my battery was completely dead. The car has 600miles on it so I was confused of course. It wouldn't jump start or take a charge. I then discovered I could only charge battery while it wasn't connected to the car. Then I unplug the dash kit and it I was able to jump it.

So I call Scosche they are aware of the issue and have a firmware update that is supposed to fix the draining problem. However, this did not work for me as my unit was already dead. And since they seem to be behind in producing them (hopefully due to some better r&d) they dont have any in stock as replacements. I would not recommend this kit until they have all of their HUGE bugs worked out.

Great dash kit for my 2011 Mustang

Pros:
-The construction quality seems to be just as good as the factory dash.
-Easy to use touchscreen LCD and simple button layout.
-Quick installation.
Cons:
-The double din opening sits at the very bottom, making it a bit inconvenient to operate your head unit.
-Cannot hold down the fan speed buttons(+/-) to adjust fan speed. You have to press the button(press down and release) to adjust in increments. Having to hit the button 4 times can be annoying to adjust from the lowest to highest fan speed and vice versa.
-Retains the factory OEM display at the top. Could have been something else here.

It's okay...

Since installing this product I have had a few issues with it just freezing up and controlling itself. I think it's a great product and I would recommend it, the only con in my opinion is that the double din sits to low..
