So, yeah, this thing will take a late model Alpine deck and marry it seamlessly to a Ford with the right connector.
Here's the hangup:
You lose the dimmer/illumination control unless you tap into the dimmer line. What does that mean, you ask? It means the brightness of the display on your Alpine will not change status with your headlights. It's a nice feature that you'll find helpful when your vehicle is full of blue light at night from the new head unit.
The fix, of course, is to tap into your dimmer control that's on another harness. No big deal, but be prepared to do it if you want it to dim the lights.
It's very cool, though. It's really nice to just yank the old deck, plug this into the car, mount the deck in your dash kit, plug this into the deck, plug in your antenna, and cram everything back in the dash. If you're slow, it's a 5-10 minute install.
It seems to be well made, though.
