Great head unit for a great price.

Phenomenal unit, good power, sound quality, and features, like the internal sub woofer controls. Stylish design as well. Totaled my car on the freeway, hit by a semi. Stereo still playing without a skip when we landed.

Great stereo! good price!

Great stereo for the price! I got this to replace a 22 year old AM only car radio. I Have been happy with this purchase since day 1. The aux-in is the best. i use it with my ipod everyday! Sounds good with 22 year old speakers. But i am going to replace them a.s.a.p. with stronger ones. another good thing is the rear pre-amp out if you decide you want a sub!

great stereo. does everything it says it will and has everything it says it has. if u dont like what it has for features dont buy it. but its powerful and nice and easy to work with. if u want a starter stereo this is for u. and for sure u gotta get this stuff from sonicelectronix.com. best deals around!! :)

Get the CDX-GT340 instead

If your car has an external amplifier or if you might ever want to put one in, get the CDX-GT340 instead. The GT240 only has rear preamp outputs (no fronts!) which is pretty silly. If your car does have an external amplifier, you can bypass it, but that is a poor solution because of the loss of the extra power and because your vehicle may not have the proper wiring to support a bypass. (Preamp wiring to an amplifier, where you would install the bypass, may be lower gauge.) Other problems with this radio include: loses programming on battery power removal (goes into annoying demo mode, etc), no input to dim the radio at night, red leds rather than any other color (red is a color to indicate malfunction in a vehicle). On the plus side, the buttons are logical and fairly easy to push while driving whereas so may other brands of radios (jvc, pioneer) require a child passenger with three hands and tiny fingers just to change the channel. The RDS could be nice if widely adopted (fairly useless at the moment) and the reason I bought this radio, hoping that someday useful public information such as road conditions might be broadcast on the FM sub carriers.

Fantastic Sony GT240 Radio-CD Player

Hi Guy's this Radio is it, Fantastic sound at all volume levels, easy to install and looks straight up. Radio has good reception also , it's one of those radios you get every once in a while that picks up stations you had trouble with before. I installed the first in a motorhome and the cd player turned up really sounds good through out the coach.
Second one installed in a 64 1/2 mustang, it has plenty of engine noise but the radio overshadows it, soounds great. I highly recommend this Radio-CD player for your prize auto.

For the price you cannot beat it!

This head unit is nothing special, but it definitely gets the job done. I originally bought this for my boat because it was cheap and because of the brand. It is nice because it has an Auxiliary input to plug in an iPod or mp3 player. Other than that, the UI is nice and simple and easy to use. It is a good unit for the price.

Excellent Quality and Price

This Sony Receiver is great for hooking up an ipod or mp3 player. It is also very easy to use and understand the controls. The unit is nothing special compared to other receivers, but for the quality and price you cannot go wrong.

I would recommend to anyone cd player is great, runs great even in this cold weather up here in North Dakota -40 below and turns on and has great sound quality powers and handles subs perfectly 2 4000 watt amps and 4 12 inch subs from sundown audio...

Great price for a great radio.

This radio works very well and looks great! Installation was a little complicated, but I suppose that comes with the territory. The included supplies made it doable even for a rookie.
