What a nightmare!
This unit has been nothing but problems from install. I have very expensive subs, and no control of the sound to them. No function to turn on/off the subs. Radio volume goes crazy on its own. Cranks way loud then I turn it down and it cranks loud again. Have to power down to reset volume. Radio worked good for a week, now its going nuts. Wont turn off with remote accessory.
DVD works great, but the overall unit is garbage. Takes awhile to read DVD, and no other sources will work on this unit. No flash drive or iPod will read through ports. Must be a defective head unit, but its got me so frustrated I won't buy Sony ever again.

Skeptical
The sound is incredible, very easy to use, and simple installation (said by the shop at least). I enjoyed the full 48hrs of play. Noticed monitor started to reset itself a few times, but didnt pay it any attention. At least til it didn't come back on. This is a good unit if you want to give it a chance. Im going with the Kenwood.

Sony head unit with dvd
Its very good, user friendly. Ipod controls are a little weak, but its good overall. The touch screen is dated, not nearly as touch friendly as an apple product but for the price its great!

Great deck for the price
Just got this deck installed, replaced factory GM deck with this. I could almost turn the stock deck to full volume and still remain in car. I cannot seem to listen to the Sony deck much above 1/3 the volume. Lots more power in Sony deck. 7 band EQ is great item to have, very few decks have this much adjustment. The access to USB drives is slow as it is mentioned in other's reviews, but upgrade over stock deck is such a huge change, hard to complain. I have not tried video playback yet, but I have high hopes it will be great. One note for GM owners looking at aftermarket decks, there are two plugs in back of stock unit. One is 24 pin and the other 12 pin. The 12 pin is for AUX inputs to stock deck. Therefore the 12 pin is left hanging in back as it is not needed in the new install. It took me time to discover its purpose, that is why I'm sharing the knowledge.

Great for the $$$
Works great! Very easy to use, sound quality is exelent from it! I normaly dont buy sony car audio products, but this is very good! Great picture quality for the dvds, plenty of rca in and out too! Id personaly prefer the usb in the back instead of the front, but minor detail! Many great setting options including setting the hpf and lpf frequencies, often ignored in headunits. Great value, as good a headunit as the 700 dollar kenwoods and Pioneers! Very good buy, and now the price is even cheaper.

Great Headunit!
I recommend this product to anyone! It is very user friendly. The DVD feature is great with a beautiful picture! I have no complaints about this headunit at all! I run this with an Audioque HDC3 15" subwoofer and Audiopipe 15001d Amplifier and it slams. Definitely get this unit if you're looking for an affordable in dash touch screen with a beautiful picture!

hands down best buy
I would for sure recommend this head unit. Two of my buddies have expensive JVC tv decks and another has a $600 kenwood an they are all envious of the style an price. Amazing picture and good wattage straight out the deck. It blew all my factory speakers in my 97 ranger {tho it was no suprise to me} replaced with alpine type r 6x8s sounds great but im bout to hook up the type r to a JL e2.150 amp. Sould match up perfect punk metal head like myself haha.

Sony xav-622
This Sony head unit has given me nothing but satisfaction since the first day I insatalled it in my 03 Lincoln town car. Fits perfect with the two head rest screen I had preinstalled this matches the luxury of the tc at a low price compared with others out there. Overall I will buy it again and recommend it.

Happy Overall
When I initially purchased this head unit I couldn't believe the price. The first one I got worked for about 2 minutes then the screen and buttons went blank and unresponsive. After ordering a new one and a week later I finally had my head unit in my car and working. The functions on this are great but it tends to be a little laggy at times. Also, it sometimes doesn't recognize my ipod. For the price I couldn't be happier. If you are looking for a basic model, this is for you!

Sony XAV-622
Installed in 02 explorer. Wiring and dash kit from Sonic. Install went smooth. Sony unit is pretty nice. DVD clear and sharp. USB/mp3 works well and good speeds from a 4GB stick. Audio volume level and quality better then oem. Antenna reception much improved also. Touch screen works perfectly.
Cons: user interface little slow at times. USB/aux pin placement should have been flipped around.

GREAT PRODUCT
The best screen for the price. The quality of the picture is amazing. It also has a built in amp.

Does what I need it to
OK radio. It's a cheap double DIN touchscreen. I find sometimes it's hard to navigate because the screen isn't sensitive enough. I miss my old Pioneer that I had bought for only $70 more a few years ago then I did this.

Nice for the Price.
Cons: Some electrical glitch that causes the unit to reboot. It hasn't happened for the last three days so maybe it is done throwing fits. I know at least one other reviewer had mentioned the same thing.
Also, this unit is slow to read my usb stick. If I am already playing from the usb and change from regular play mode to Senseme, it has to read the stick again and it takes at least fifteen seconds or maybe more. That being said, I enjoy everything else about this stereo.
Pros: Although there are only 3 default color schemes available, the stereo uses them to its advantage. You can't change the button color, just the background of static dislplays and a color graphic that displays (if you want it to) while the stereo is on. But what is a nice surprise are the static color schemes when viewing different play mode. I haven't used the dvd player yet, but just judging by the vibrance of the colors in stereo mode, the screen must be great for viewing movies. My biggest disappointment was with the very drab screen in radio mode. Then I discovered that by just touching the screen you can make all the grey buttons disappear and the only thing left is the station number and the active color graphic at the bottom of the screen.
What I like most about the product is the senseme mode for playing music from an outside music source. I plug in my usb stick and then choose from three different modes how I want the music selected. You can just choose from your music folders; you can select for your mood from a range of venues from "morning commute" to "midnight" and others in between. The senseme program will organize your music to fit those venues and then play them. Another senseme mode is a screen with all your songs represented as dots... the screen looks like a starfield with a circle around it. At different locations in the circle are mood descriptions. Touch the screen on or near those descriptions and you will get a song that matches it. The last thing I'll mention is the touch screen. The main feature I like about it is that, while listening to radio or outside music source, you don't have to take your eyes off the road to advance the music, go back or search. You just put a finger on the screen and drag it up, down, accross or backward and it will advance, go back or scan in those directions. Very convenient.
Oh, there is one more thing after all. It is small but nice. I have light sensitive eyes and am often bothered by glare, whether from natural light or artificial, and it is more pronounced at night while I am driving. With this stereo, I can press a button in the top right hand corner and shut off the entire screen, but the stereo still plays. I am not certain if it can be done in cd mode, but I have used it in others. I hope this review is helpful to you and good luck.

Over all... Not that bad
I've had this product for a while now and ther are a few cons but it does what it's suppose to do. It's a little slow at times to change radio stations and it doesn't always pick up your finger touch, also it doesn't control my subs as much as I wanted to (in terms of turning them up or down or even off) but it will a little bit. But on the pluses side, it looks great, the picture is pretty decent, sounds fantastic and it has a decent amount of features. I'd recommend it to anyone, any day.
