So Far So Good...but time will tell and use of the product over a minimum of 1 year.

It had and still has a very heavy smell of plastic. However It's runs well and the fans do work thermostatically. I have two very large New 12 Volt Batteries wired together to double the amp hrs and keep the voltage at 12Volts. The meter is off at least .05 lower than my fluke says. To be expected. The connectors are the best I've seen yet-on the Whistler and they provide lock washers!!!
I had purchased an Excel 1500 watt prior to the whistler.I can't even find a schematic for the Excel- Nuts and washers, and clips began falling inside of the inverter-What a mess-the cables inside are marked negative for red and positive for black. All they had to do was to use lock washers and all the connections would still be connected. I bought this through Amazon and I had it sitting in the box for 6 months until-(so the one year warranty was not honored by amazon and I can't even find out who made this junk I could get two 85 watt solar panels together and a decent size battery bank to run it!) With the whistler I am getting from 6-8 hrs energy which runs our living room. The electric bill has dropped $15 a month at 4 hrs we were getting- from the Excel 1500 watt before it fell apart- it literally just fell into pieces-so I bought the Whistler 3500. The Whistler feels strong and I think It will outlast the Excel No Problem-two more Batteries and one more solar panel and I'll be happy. We also have a honda 2500 gas operated generator if al else fails. I want free electric-from the sun-but it's an expensive investment. Do not go cheap on anything-you'll regret it when you have to buy the item a 2nd time!.

Works great

This unit is installed in an international prostar. It is wired in with sky high car audio 2/0 cable. It runs a mini fridge/freezer, microwave, TV an Xbox 360 all at once. It also will run the fridge and an electric tea kettle at the same time with out any problem. It's only been installed for a little over a month so I can't speak to its long term reliability.
