very very nice item.. make me save for long journey from speed trap.

Apparently outdated

Works very well. But apparently outdated because radar "Robot Multaradar SD580" from the company Jenoptik detects approximately 20-30 meters.

Important Safety device

I have found this device to be of great help in protecting me from those who would extract funds from me in the name of safety while producing no evidence that this is the case.

doing its job

The detector has picked up all the local law enforcement radars up so far. Not used much on interstate yet. Good detector for price .

the whistler pro 68se is great .. so is the customer service at sonic

i just want to say that this detector is great in every aspect... i like that it is louder and has so many settings . i paid a very fair price for it .. was more than i deserved.. also i must say that the customer service at sonic was great. i have purchased about 10 items off of them and they are great. they even call you back and help you if you need it ..

Good Detector

Within the first week the detector saved me from a few tickets.
Really picks up any signal.
People say its a bulky but I personally don't see it being large at all.
Goes off sometimes when I know there isn't any police around but can't complain because it's just picking up signals.
I have a few subs and the sound can be adjusted to be loud enough to be heard over the woofers.

Pros: Effective at short and long range. Display is very visible. Good length wire. Picks up singles everywhere.

Cons: Goes off randomly sometimes when I know there isn't any police around for miles.

I recommend this to anyone who wants a detector but doesn't want to spend a lot.

Good for the price

Not bad for the money. I bought this for a present and had about a week to try it. I haven't bought a new detector in 18 years, been using my valentine one. This one isn't even in the same league as my old V-one as far as sensitivity and range. It does have some nice features though. Better than driving without anything but for an experienced radar detector user I would recommend spending more money on something better.

This radar does a pretty good job with no false alarms.

Good and Bad

This was my first ever radar detector, I'd never been pulled over before though I felt like I was pushing my luck. So I got a radar detector to give me a little assistance. It saved me once going 85 in a 35, KA band went off slammed my brakes slid around a corner and met a sheriff going 34 miles an hour. Sometimes cops don't have their radars on, which is a major downfall, so you'll still have to watch out. Just got busted criminal speeding, had my friend rip it off the dashboard and throw it under the seat.

I had set too much faith in the radar detector after it saved me about 3-4 times, which was major stupidity on my spot. My KA band went off, and I hit the brakes, but the cop was already about 150 yards away scanning me. He told me that he caught me doing 87, although my radar detector went off and I was only doing 75 at that point... But, it would have been stupid for me to tell him I had one. If you're caught doing a speed and you know you're screwed just keep going that speed until they pull you over, find a spot to pull of turn off your headlights and wait until you're not there anymore.

I'd also recommend not speeding with a group of people with HIDs on, because I was picked out of a small group; and my car was easily identifiable. Not only is it sporty, fast, but the headlights were just a major set off. Good luck, but I know I won't be speeding anymore.

Great Product

Absolutely worth it, you get more than you pay for, I spent under $50 and it has been the best investment in my car.

This is the best bang per buck for its price range, obviously not a 4-600$ or $1k and above, but for my country and occasional city needs its perfect!

Didn't think I would really need it, but it already saved me from a ticket when I gained speed down a hill and it started going off!

Love the settings customization, alert styles etc!

4 on durability due to month of owning, although its held up in the MI winter so far

4 on use because it can take a bit to understand the features, but great manual!

This is a good thing.

I use this device for about six months every day. This time does not pay any fine, although I travel a lot. Compared with other models catches very little noise. A little too big in size. It is worth the money.

Value for your money

This a very excellent device to use and my money for speeding tickets have been saved.

Works Fine

This seems to work pretty good. It quit a bit larger than the other Whistler
that I owned before this one but that is no a problem for me. For the price I fell it was a good value the product.

Worth it!

Love it saved me from a very expensive ticket the first day I used the only problem I've had is the part that goes in the car outlet for power doesn't really fit well it's just a little bit too small.

Whistler radar

I have a had several radars in the past. Everything from Passport escort x50 to the tried and true valentine. Now for the money that I payed or the whistler you really can't go wrong. However, that being said it
Is not going to out perform the valentine or the x50. They're in a completely different league thus the reason why they come with a 400 dollar and up price tag. But again, if you're looking for your first radar and to get your feet wet.... you can't go wrong.

Good detector for the money

For the money this detector is great. The first day i had it it saved me the first day i got it. And I haven't had any problems with it yet

One thing is that you have to put it on a certain setting so the false alarms will decrease, but you will still get them.

This product also has a lot of great features like dim modes, and quiet modes. And this detector can be loud enough to be heard over loud music and also be very quiet when you don't feel like being bothered.

O.K. unit

I really don't understand all the features of this little unit but it seems to do the job of keeping me alert.

Overall this radar detector is great, and I would recommend it to anyone needing it!!
Pros: Low cost/ Alerts to the new instant on radar / Long distance / easy to install/ comes with the permanent installable power cord
Cons: Too big / dimmer does not work well.

Good product

Detection is good, even when a cop is around the corner. I keep it on all the time. This way when it goes off it reminds me to obey the law.

Remember it's a radar detector, not a cop detector.

like 4 days ago it save me from laser, i was going 20 over the speed limit,
in my country they only use laser and tha great thing of this radar/laser detector is that you can turn off the rafar bands and select wich one you want to use, great pruduct.

Funky machine!

The cool thing for your money. Fulfills all the working chambers in our town! Just squeaking in automatic doors in malls and at some gas stations, zdarovaetsya with other radar detectors, but it's not a bit annoying! Chose a very long time, read many forums about radar detectors and stopped on this model. In general buying pleased all advise!

Great Buy!

This product is a great buy until you hit the big boys! This product has saved me many times from noise ordinance tickets due to the flashing lights on it! Very good buy for the money!
