For over two decades, AudioControl has been designing and manufacturing award-winning auto sound products at our factory located in the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. During this period, countless sound-off winning contestants have chosen AudioControl products to give them the competitive edge. "Can you really win without AudioControl", was part of an article written commenting on competition winning systems? Nothing sounds better than an awesome recording played back on a kick-butt system. Unfortunately, the acoustics of your vehicle can take away from your system's performance. While AudioControl products do not change the laws of physics (although they act as they do), auto sound enthusiasts have long known that AudioControl products "make good stereos sound better"

The new LC8i is a highly flexible eight-channel signal processor with active input circuitry that accepts speaker-level inputs, of up to 400 watts per channel, from factory-installed source units or amplifiers. It converts them to high-quality pre-amp signals that can then be directed to aftermarket processors and/or amplifiers. This means users will enjoy maximum sound quality while maintaining the use of factory volume and steering wheel controls.

Designed for maximum flexibility, the LC8i is 30% smaller than it's predecessor and it is equipped with an auxiliary input that allows the simple addition of secondary source units like iPods and satellite radio tuners. By tapping the dash control knob, a user can switch back and forth between the main speaker-level inputs and the auxiliary input. Additionally, the multi-function dash knob provides both volume control of the Auxiliary input and level adjustments for the subwoofer output.

The LC8i uses proven OEM integration technology derived from AudioControl's highly popular LC6i, LC7i and The Epicenter® Plus signal processors. The speaker-level inputs accept high wattage signals (up to 400 watts per channel), either full range or crossed over, and converts them to high-quality pre-amp signals. Signals from factory radios with built-in crossovers can be summed and combined internally to provide a full-range preamp signal. Customers wanting to offer sound quality that is clearly better than OEM systems can also easily add one of AudioControl's many crossovers or equalizers after the LC8i, providing even greater control over factory signals.

Speaker-Level Inputs:

If you are like many people who like the look and features of their factory-installed source unit, but feel your system overall is lacking power and bass, we have good news. The LC8i has high-impedance speaker level inputs that allow it to accept amplified signals (up to 400 watts per channel) from most factory-installed source units (even Bose) and output a high-quality pre-amp signal via standard RCA connectors. This will allow you to add better-quality amplifiers, processors and speakers while keeping the convenience features of your factory-installed source unit. Unlike inexpensive speaker-level and line-output converters available, the LC8i offers high sound quality.

Auxiliary Source Input:

A set of auxiliary RCA inputs connects the audio signal of an iPod or other stereo source into the system through the LC8i. Tapping the included LC8i remote knob will change from the main input to the Aux inputs and tapping again will change the knob function from subwoofer level control to auxiliary volume control.

GTO™ Signal-Sensing Inputs:

Most factory-installed source units lack the features that make it easy to upgrade with really good-sounding, performance aftermarket products. One of those key features is a 12-volt trigger that will turn on devices like the LC8i and your external amplifiers. Therefore, we have equipped your LC8i with our unique GTO™ (Great Turn-On) signal-sensing inputs. Once the GTO input of your LC8i detects a speaker-level signal on the Main Inputs, it powers up. When the speaker-level signal goes away, your LC8i will automatically turn off. Optionally, your LC8i is also equipped with a standard 12-volt trigger (Remote In) that will allow you to turn on your LC8i in the traditional manner.

12-Volt Output Trigger:

Since you will be using an external amplifier(s) and processor in your system, you will need the ability to "trigger" or turn on these devices (a romantic dinner won't quite work here). Your LC6i has a high-current 12-volt output (labeled Remote Out) that will provide a trigger to these remote devices when the LC6i is powered up. Please note that this output is not to be used as the main power for these devices.

Internal Channel Summing:

The LC8i has the capability to combine together multiple (2, 4, 6, or 8) input signals from the factory source unit into 2 channels. This is page particularly handy when using the LC8i with a factory system that has multiple, actively crossed-over signals being sent from an OEM source unit or amplifier(s). For example, in some vehicles, there is an actively crossed-over tweeter, midrange, and woofer all in the front of the vehicle. The LC8i lets you take all of those signals and sum them together to get a high-quality, full-range, pre-amp signal without the use of any additional cables or hardware.

AutoMode Inputs:

Sometimes in life (and car audio) we need more outputs than inputs. Therefore we have equipped your LC6i with AutoMode inputs that take the Channel 2 signal and automatically feeds it to the Channel 3 outputs, provided there is no signal present on the Channel 3 inputs. This means your LC6i will accept two input channels and give you four output channels. Or it can accept four input channels and give you six output channels.
