The original OCTAPAD was a revolutionary electronic percussion instrument that was warmly embraced by musicians worldwide and it became the paradigm for future electronic percussion pads. Now, with the OCTAPAD SPD-30, cutting-edge drum and percussion sounds combine with the latest triggering technology, a Phrase Loop function, USB MIDI and much more.
Stellar Sounds
The OCTAPAD SPD-30 comes crammed with over 600 drum and percussion sounds from all over the world, making it just about certain you'll find a sound to suite any musical style you're going for. The sounds are put together in 50 dynamic and expressive kits, and range from traditional to contemporary to exotic. You can freely customize the sounds with controls like tuning, muffling, attack, pitch sweep and more. You can also layer sounds (two per pad) to create a virtually infinite number of sound combinations.
Multi-Effects
The SPD-30’s multi-effects engine is sure to take your performances to the next level. There are 30 types of internal multi-effects onboard including EQ, limiter, seven different ambiance types and many more. Phrase Loop
The Phrase Loop feature is a wonderfully creative tool that enables you to quickly capture your playing in real time. You can also overdub up to three layers per phrase, as well as internally store up to 50 phrases. One might also consider investing in and hooking up optional footswitches for smooth recording and hands-free operation (see Optional Accessory list below). Alternatively, you can save your phrase data to USB memory. Although Roland cannot guarantee functionality with all USB memory units, they do make proprietary USB memory devices (sold separately).
The Latest in Triggering Technology
The OCTAPAD SPD-30 boasts Roland’s most advanced V-Drum® triggering technology. Each individual pad is a separate, isolated unit, offering unprecedented sensitivity and absolute crosstalk rejection. Additionally, there are four dual-trigger inputs and a hi-hat controller input (compatible with Roland FD-8, VH-11) enabling users to build a mini drum kit with external V-Pads (Roland KD-/PD-/PDX-/CY-series). The OCTAPAD SPD-30 is also compatible with Roland RT-Series acoustic drum triggers for even more versatility.
