Clarion NX501 R/B

Excellent Buy, Looks and works like its brand new! Very happy!

I was a little affraid to buy a refurbished model but went ahead anyway because of the warranty it had and figured if it wasn't what I hoped then I can just return it. Well I got the package and everything is packaged very well and most parts you get like wires and everything are new! The unit itself is flawless! You can't tell it was ever even touched. So right off I was very pleased.

Install was pretty simple and fit well. The unit works like a dream. I love the interface and home screens. Love how you can swipe it like my cell phone screen. Plus you can move the icons where you want them if you hold them down. Also you can change the background from 10 different ones or one of your own. It's nice to have a unit that has everything in one. Navigation works well and directs me and locates me everytime.

Bluetooth is great, not only can you get your calls plus see all your contacts and missed calls etc. on the screen but you can also steam your music from your phone, even Pandora or other services you have! That was great!

I don't have a backup camera yet but it's on its way. I did however run the camera reverse wire to the reverse bulb in my car and it does switch to the camera when I put it in reverse, so it would work when I put the camera in so thats good. :)

Picture quality is great. Looks fantastic with DVDs or with a USB drive connected. I did install a switch to get past the saftey brake wire. It's pretty easy. The brake wire just needs to be grounded but since the unit has to see the actual change in ground (can't be constantly grounded) you have to put a switch in. Just connect the green wire to the positive end of the switch and just branch off the ground for the unit to the switch to ground it. Tada! Now when it comes up that the picture is disabled just flip the switch and the picture comes on. Again, if you turn the unit or car off you'll have to just flip the switch to off and then on again cause it requires to see the change in ground but not too hard to do!

Again, this unit is great. Don't be affraid of buying a refurbished item. I would buy another! One thing great is that you know that it's been tested to make sure everything works! Can't say that about all new items, plus any software would have been updated as well! So its a win win. Very Very pleased with the product!

All in one Radio,NAV, DVD radio

I bought this radio refurbished. Has been a good radio so far.

One thing I find odd is, as soon as you start your car and try to go to navigation, it will take a while before the map shows. Have not used all the features yet. Would recommend it.

Installed this in my '03 Miata. No problems. Everything works well. GPS is nicer that my Garmin or TomTom and is full of features. Sound quality is very good. It won't blow the windows out but does not distort at full volume. I bought a refurbished one but you would not know it from the packaging or condition. It would be nice if the USB was in the front face instead of wired to the back. There was enough wire to run it to my console. Love the back-up camera (paid >$20 for one). This unit is very cool. I will never be able to go back to a standard unit.
