Beyerdynamic DT-1770 Pro Stereo Headphone
I didn't expect the DT-1770 Pro to be any more than another good mid-priced headphone, but it surprised me with a sound quality that rivals planars in bass response, has a liquid-smooth midrange, and a neutral treble with sparkle and detail that ranks with the best dynamic headphones I've heard, bar none.
Physically, the DT-1770 Pro is the best of Beyerdynamic - a sturdy high-quality build with great comfort, and enough adjustment in the well-padded headband to not only fit virtually any head, but to also allow immediate portability by pulling the earcups down to wear around the neck when not on the head.
Isolation is good, leakage is almost nonexistent, and the detachable cable is a common mini-XLR type. I highly recommend the DT-1770 Pro for home use or professional use, since the design for accuracy and neutrality doesn't compromise its musicality for extended listening.

I needed a great set of headphones to use in place of my monitors. I tried 15 different ones before settling on these. I've been using these for about 3 months now and couldn't be happier. If you're in the studio daily it's a worthwhile investment if you want the best mixes. There were supposedly issues with the first ones released, which I had one of but never noticed anything. I only mention because I contacted Sonic inquiring into this and they had mine replaced for peace of mind. I also noticed after getting the new one and comparing to my old one that it really does sound way better once broken in.

After exhaustive research i am proud to say that i made a great decision with the 1770 Pro's. I have had a LOT of headphones and this one is just peachy for my studio monitoring. Thank you to my friends at Sonic for helping me (and giving me a fine deal).

I would highly recommend these headphones! I'm so glad I bought these instead of the Focal Spirit. I've been mixing on these in tandem with Waves Nx with great results.
Pros: Very comfortable, every frequency is represented, one set of ear pads for tighter seal, one set of ear pads for more breathe-ability, heavy-duty cord and connectors, plush case
Cons: Price
