High output at a very reasonable price. NVX is a newer brand to me but appears to be very solid and reputable brand.

Best Answer: Simply, yes it will work. However, the RMS rating for the subs is 1500 watts and at a one ohm load the amp will only put out 1200 watts. For dual two ohm subs you can wire them for a load of 2 ohms or 8 ohms. Neither of which will place the amp in a good position to achieve its full potential. If you wire the subs for 2 ohm load then the amp will only be able to push around 800 watts; that is not close at all to the potential of the subs ability. So, to answer your question, yes it will work, but you will not get the amps full ability.

Please do not experiment with the Level/Gain setting. This can and will damage your setup, which is NOT a warrantable. Please read through our K-Base article , linked below, that touches on the subject. Also, consult a professional installer if need be.

This amplifier can push 2 JL 12w3v3-2 without heating even working in 1 ohm? The Amplifinder not say that this amp can be used for these 2 subwoofer. In the amplifier specifications shows a Great amplifier and strong, I need to be sure that I will not have any problems like overheating.
Marcelo C on Feb 26, 2015
Best Answer: Hello,

The reason the Amplifinder doesn't list the JAD1200.1, is because Each JL Audio 12W3v3-2 is ONLY asking for 100-500 watts RMS. When/if wired to the JAD1200.1, you will be providing each driver AT LEAST ~600w RMS. That, in of itself, is considered Warranty Void by JL Audio. Our concern here wouldn't be with the amplifier, it would be with the JL Audio 12W3v3-2 inability to handle That much power. Moreover, add the fact that the amplifier is capable of provider well beyond its rated figures, you may very well blow the subwoofers. Proceed at your own risk.

Does this amp come with a remote volume knob?
Pancho C on Oct 15, 2014
Best Answer: Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Yes, these amps do come with bass control knobs. I will tell you hat I don't use them myself because it's easy to turn it up too high and distort the woofers they're powering. I also have two of thhese amps and trying to adjust the 2 would be too hard to keep them hitting even. I use a digital sound processor from the company audio control to control both of the amps. It is great and if you tune your amp with the knob all theay up you won't get any gain distortion. Hope this was helpful. Have a nice day.

Will this support multiple subwoofers?
Harry D. Staff on Aug 5, 2014
Best Answer: Absolutely. Obviously you have to make sure the figures make sense, but technically this amp can support 4,8,16 subs IF you make the numbers work. 16 is probably a stretch sense that would mean the subs would be rated at 75w RMS, haha =P . On the topic of Multiple Subs, I'm thinking of adding a Second VCW104 to this amp.

I purchased a Kicker 43DCWR122 dual 12" sub enclosure, rated at 1000 watts RMS @ 2 ohms. I've been told this amp would be great for those. Any input? Also, I heard the bass control knob sucks. I'd be willing to overlook that and get a bass knob for my AudioControl LC2i - would that be a better way to go? Thanks!!
C Kwasi on Oct 2, 2016
Best Answer: The NVX JAD1200.1 will compliment your KICKER subs well. Provided that your connections/wires and power supply (battery/alternator) is up to par. You'll find that NVX tend to underrate the power of this particular amplifier. An impressive 1037watts RMS @ 2 ohms will be more than enough. As for the bass knob, unless you compete in SPL comps, I wouldnt bother with it. So long as you tune it PROPERLY, the bass knob is not needed.

Scott A on Nov 5, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, my Colorado has a 100amp alternator and an optima blue-top under the hood. I also have the big three and depending on the frequency it normally never drops bellow 13.3-13.5. Although you want to upgrade your battery.

I'm confused on how to wire this sub. I have a NVX JAD1200.1 amplifier that I'm going to use. Under wiring guides I'm assuming I will be using the Mono Amp layout under the 1 RE Audio SXX10D4 Subwoofer category? The site they referred me to also gives me the same wiring layout - Does it matter which positive and negative ports I put the wires in? (wired in parallel?) I'm new to this if you can't already tell, clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Best Answer: from what i understand the jad1200 has a mono output that is a single channel output. the two speaker connectors are provided so you can wire the voice coils or two woofers to this amp without trying to cram all the wires into one output as with many mono amps today. the outputs are + - + -. you can either connect positive to positive and negative to negative on the woofer and run one set of wires to the amp on + - or you can run wires from each voice coil to the amp, woofer + to amp + and woofer - to amp - . either way you will be running the amp at two ohms provided you have a woofer with dual 4 ohm voice coils. if you have a dual 2 ohm woofer you will put the amp into a 1 ohm load(which is the lowest load it can run safely per manufacture specs. i have run this amp all three ways without and issues. keep in mind to set the gain correctly. i havent run my 1200 at one ohm but at two and four ohm. that being said you should set your gain according to the amp load. if you change the load reset the gain accordingly. hope this helps

okay I am planning on buying this amp and run it at 1 ohms do I need dvc 2 ohm subs or dvc 4 ohm subs and how do I hook them up?
A shopper on Dec 14, 2015
Best Answer: Hello,

That depends on Your definition of "subs" . "Subs" can mean two, three, four, five, six subwoofer etc..etc... Assuming you are implying the typical Two Subwoofer setup, then two Dual-4ohm Subwoofers wired in Parallel/Parallel will achieve a 1ohm final impedance.

Hi there ,....i'm also confused with the wiring diagram..... i have 2x sub dual 4ohm.. so i put each serie to 2ohm,.... now i want a 1 ohm load. so normally with 1output + - i would wire them serie to get 1 ohm load + on + , - on -. now i see 2x output + - and + - . when i connect each sub which have a 2ohm load to each output .will this automatically put the load to 1 ohm SERIE? or will it give me 4ohm PARALLEL?? so final question is will the amp automatically connect it SERIE?
Nicole P on Jun 4, 2015
Best Answer: i take it that you have two dual four ohm voice coil sub woofers, you want the final impedance to be one ohm. if that's the case wire each sub in parallel +to+ and -to- and wire it to one set of the + - on the amp. do the same with the other one. the outputs on the amp are the same with either connection. it's a mono amp,so it has only one output. they provided two outputs to make it easier to connect multiple woofers to the amp hope this clears up any confusion you may have

How would you wire (2) DVC 4 ohm subwoofers down to 1 ohm on this amp?
Anthony G on Aug 10, 2014
Best Answer: Hello,

You have TWO options here - give our guys a call if it gets to hard to follow - of which NEITHER is "Better" than the other. You will get the exact same performance.

1) You can wire the Two Dual-4ohm subs TOGETHER in Parallel, and simply use 1 Positive (+) & 1 Negative (-) from the Amp.

2) You can wire EACH Dual-4ohm sub, INDIVIDUALLY, in Parallel. This will bring the impedance of EACH SUB down to 2ohms. Then, you will give EACH SUB its own Positive & Negative, utilizing all the outputs on the amp. The amp will then - WITHOUT any intervention from you - bring down the impedance to 1ohm on its own, because the outputs come together internally like a traditional Monoblock.

I have this amp .... This amp says at 14.4volts at 1ohm load will produce 1200 RMS Now I have a stock alternator 130 amp alternator with XS power 3400 battery and a kinetic HC 800 battery at the amp my volts stay between 13.9-14.1 when the bass hits it drops down to 12.8 on heavy bass notes ... My question is am I getting the 1200 RMS or should I upgrade my alternator to a Mechman alternator 240 amp its a truck 2000 Ford F-150 XLT 4.6 that 240 amp alternator is the only one that will fit my truck according to your website and mechman website ... Should I upgrade or is my current alternated doing to job ?

okay this is a dumb question but I just cant comprehend the speaker inputs.. I have 2 dvc 2ohm subs do I just hook positive and negative on both woofers to each terminal on the amp? I'm looking for a 1 ohm load
A shopper on Nov 24, 2015
Best Answer: Hi,

- To avoid confusion, simply use ONE pair of terminals, and ignore the second pair. Using them vs Not Using them does NOT change the performance of the setup. The terminals are setup this way to make installation easier, but obviously it does the complete opposite of that =P .

- Unfortunately, it is physically IMPOSSIBLE to wire two Dual-2ohm subwoofers to a 1ohm final load. See the link below.

Should you go with Certified Results or Dynamic Results when picking an amp?
A shopper on Nov 8, 2015
Best Answer: Certified is the wattage the amp puts out with an uninterupted sound wave ( 40 hz test frequency ) while dynamic is used with variable sound waves ( normal music ). The way I consider those numbers is that this amp will put out around 1300 watts at a minimum and 1600 at a maximum at any given time ( with the amp running at 1 ohm of course ).

I plan on running this amp at 4 ohms, I have a factory amp for my mids and highs, would it over power the mids and highs? I don't know how much the factory amp puts out.
Scott A on Nov 7, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Scott,

Technically, it is impossible to answer your question without knowing exactly how much your OEM amplifier is providing. However, generally speaking, we highly doubt it is coming anywhere close to the power output abilities of the JAD amplifier. To that point, it Does have the ability to "over power" that OEM amplifier, for obvious reasons, but a proper tune and configuration should result in the desired outcome.

NVX JAD1200.1
Pioneer GM-D9601
Pioneer GM-D9601
Best Answer: Your question is a bit tricky to answer. Obviously the power ratings of the two amplifiers are about the same (not considering the Dyno results), so there isn't much "upgrade" there. We aren't Sundown Dealers, so we can't speak for their product, but the specs of the driver say that your amplifier is only asking for ~1200w RMS @1ohms/4ohms. With that said, the output is a bit of a moot point, because you are shooting for the same results.
However, the JAD does provide better overall SQ, efficiency and a proper Subsonic Filter. Is this "better"? That really depends on YOUR opinion of how much all the matters. We would argue that it DOES matter, making the JAD "better", but that comes down to you =]

If running this amp at 4 ohms, with it being an amp with 120 amps in fusing be too much for a 140 amp alternator and stock battery? I plan on doing the big three before install.
A shopper on Nov 5, 2015
Best Answer: Hello,

Your question is a bit difficult to follow, so do you mean:

"If I am running this amp at 4 ohms, would a 140 amp alternator on a stock battery be too much, considering the amp has 120 amps in fusing? I plan on doing the big three before install."

If so, then no, that is not "Too much" . The amperage of the alternator has no ill affect on the amplifier, because the alternator is still only providing a standard ~14v to the battery, then to the amplifier. Also, the impedance of your system has no relationship - in terms of 'ill affect' - with the amperage of the alternator. Point being, you are fine.

how to wire NVX vcw122 sub to work with NVW jad1200.1?
Peter E on Jun 26, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Peter,

We assume you wish to gain a 1ohm final load. Please, before proceeding, be aware that you will - figures wise - be overpowering the driver. This means YOU as the user must take responsibility for making sure the system is tuned properly as to not damage either the driver or amplifier. Most manufactures will not honor warranties for USER ERROR . With that said, below is a link as to how to wired the driver to a 1ohm load, simply use one set of outputs on the amplifier.
