CD's are becoming obsolete. Bluetooth and USB is the way to go because of the amount of capacity of songs you can cram into one flash drive or card. the quality of sound is no different from a CDs if not better. I like the bigger button's on this unit . Blue tooth option is an open window to unlimited possibilities.

Wet Sounds XS-65i-S
Best Answer: Hi Gus,

-WIll these two work together?

Yes. However, keep in mind, the GMR-1 is a very small unit and therefore its amplifier is small also. As such, it won't provide enough power to justify the price of the XS-65i-S speakers. We suggest - eventually - upgrading to an amplifier intended to run high end speakers like the XS.

-Also, what accessories do I need to purchase to install? Marine speaker wire and what else?

No two installs are alike, so we can't answer this question in detail. We suggest consulting your installer. Generally speaking, you will need power/ground wiring (which you can use speaker wire for), baffles (if you install calls for them), tip ties, butt connectors, crimper, TESA tape, etc....

dumb question but my daughter sent me this item as solution to streaming Pandora from internet from my Iphone to my stereo on my boat. Stereo has incredible sound but is 12 years old and no usb ports or any updated technology. As such, is this device intended to hook up to my stereo and transmit music off my iphone? If so, will it connect to a stereo 12 years old? How? Thanks.
brad q on Aug 11, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Brad,

The MB Quart Nautic GMR-1 is a stereo in of itself, and is NOT intended to connect to ANOTHER stereo. In theory, it Can be made to do that, but that would require the "12 yr old radio" to have the necessary INPUTS , which we are very doubtful of.

It WILL however, receive a the bluetooth audio from any device , not just iPhones. Where it streams that audio signal is completely up to you and how you decide to install the headunit.

gmr-1 has a blue wire in harness where does it go its not in the wiring diagram provided . also where does red accessory wire go ? to a positive or to add an accessory ?
Mario M on Jul 2, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Mario,

We do no see a Blue wire, but Blue is the universal color for 12V REMOTE TURN ON , however we suggest contacting Technical Support at 847.540.7700 . In regards to the Red Accessory wire, that is intended to go to a 12V Switched Source. We highly recommend consulting an installer if the wiring becomes problematic.
