The manuals explains speaker connections for bridged mode, but doesn't mention proper interconnect hookup for bridging. What's the appropriate RCA connection setup for two channel bridged mode?

Best Answer: The speaker connections for bridged mode were incorrect in the manual that came with my 800.4. I exchanged email with NVX and they advised to use the outer terminals i.e. RR- and RL+ for the rear speaker in bridged mode. I use the amp in 3 channel mode and setting the bridge mode switch to the centre (3 channel) position resulted in mono sound from the font speakers - not what I wanted! It works ok in the 4 channel setting and all 4 RCA inputs connected to my headunit. For 2 channel operation you may need to experiment - start with your left RCA signal into the L front input and your right RCA signal into the L rear input. Set the bridge mode switch to 2 channel. Connect your left speaker to the front FR- and FL+ terminals and your right speaker to the rear RR- and RL+ terminals. I think that will work. If not, you might need to get 2 Y-cables to split your RCA signals to both L+R inputs and set the bridge mode switch to 4 channel.

The Alpine SPR-68 and the Alpine SPR-60C a good setup with this amp??
A shopper on Jul 5, 2015
Best Answer: form what i can see with the specs of the speakers this amp will do the job with headroom to spare. mine works sweet with my x65 components rated at 65 watts rms. set your gains and crossover for the speaker freq. resp. and power level and you should be happy. for best results use a multi meter and set your max output levels to feed the rms levels to the speakers. this amp has a lot of power with the correct input voltage. iv taken the time to test the output level vs gain pos. i know what volts out i have with each click which makes any changes with ohms or speakers as simple as a click. hope this helps

AJ A on Apr 27, 2016
Best Answer: Hello AJ,

The adapters accept 0 Gauge, not 4 gauge.

I'm looking for a good amp for my alpine type r 6x9 (rear) & typer r 6.5 components in the front. Already have the speakers (not installed yet) & have just been trying to research good affordable amps. Has anyone tried this amp with any alpine speakers? Would love to here some feedback on this amp because it has such great reviews. Not to familiar with NVX. Thanks

Best Answer: I've been installing car audio for friends, family and myself for over 30 years! I have to say that this is probably the best amp I've ever purchased. I did a complete make over on my Mercedes Benz E-430 Sport and I have this amp pushing four (4) Rockford Fosgate 6 3/4 front door/rear deck speaker and two (2) 3 1/2 Rockford Fosgate in the rear door. The clarity is unmatched by anything I've ever installed. You definitely will not be disappointed.

Can you recommend components for front and 6.5 coaxials for rear that would work well with this amps power rating?
Thomas M on Jul 30, 2014
Best Answer: it depends on your budget. i have the nvx xsp6act component set running active with two channels running the tweeters and two channels running the midbass speakers. the guys at nvx said these speakers would handle the amps power as long as the gains wer set correctly. my headunit puts out 4v and i have the gains set for 5v so im not using all the power the amp has to offer and its redicousily loud when i want to show it off. awsome setup. i also have the vsp65kit and vsp65 coaxial speakers on the same amp in another car with the same gain setup and it is running the components on two channels and the coaxs on the other two and it has a verry good sound. if you can do the x components either active or passive and give them about 40 days of play to break in and im shure you'll be very happy with your setup. hope this helps you.

would this nvx amp be good 2 run 2 sets of nvx VSP65 speakers or is the amp have 2 much rms for thos speakers ?
Matthew D on Nov 12, 2015
Best Answer: I'm currently using my nvx jad800.4 to power four Infinity 6x8 6929c.f. speakers. These are 2ohm coaxial speakers. If you take some time to set up crossover for front and rear channels you should be fine. I don't expect sub bass from my full range speakers so I get great mid range and highs. This is a powerful amp despite its small size. I have to keep gains set less than half. Great amp for money.

Will this amp work with the Kicker 6.5" and 6"x9" CS series speakers? The 6.5" speakers have an RMS of 100 watts at 4 ohms and the 6"x9" have an RMS of 150 watts at 4 ohms. I am concerned about over or under powering the speakers and was looking for an amp that would work well with these speakers.
Greg G on Oct 2, 2014
Best Answer: I am running two pair of 6.5 alpine r components on the front channels... Two pair of alpine r 6x9 on the rear channels... Two ohm load each channel. No problem at all, clear crisp and loud. This amp is a beast. Your set up should work just as good at four omh. If anything it might overpower your set up. Make sure your gain is set correctly and you will be amazed by how it sounds.

I'm a noob when it comes to amps and anything related. My current mids and highs set up at the moment is 2 sets of NVX VSP65 's and one set of Pioneer TS-B350PRO 3-1/2" bullet tweeters running off of SPL GLA4 1800Watts 4 channel amp. My problem is that the amp goes into protection mode after running at high volume for about 20 mins. Will this amp be enough to solve my issue?
A shopper on Jul 25, 2016
Best Answer: This amp (nvx jad800.4) runs 4 alpine spr-60c 6.5s, 1 through each channel. 4 ohm load. Tweets are run through deck. Nvr had a safety off. My mids are strong, they sound great and never distort before tweets. Little side note, I've heard that D class doesn't produce great highs if ur putting tweeters on the nvx jad800.4. Something else to consider is I'm in a golf with the amps full exposed to cabin air conditioning in the summer.

I have two pairs of Infinity Kappa 682.11cf that I plan on installing in my 2007 mustang. I am looking at using a 4 channel to power them. The two that I am considering are Infinity KAPPA FOUR and the NVX JAD800.4 does anyone have any thoughts on this? I also plan on running a mono for the subs Infinity Kappa 100.9W.

Can this amp be run at 2 ohms bridged? I'd like to run the front channels independently (200w X 2 @ 2 Ohms), and bridge the rear to run a 2 ohm sub @ 400 watts.
Jason F on Mar 11, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Jason,

Bridging will obligate the system to No Less than 4ohms. 2ohms cannot and should not be done.

What "type" of crossover is in this amp (listed as 24db HP or LP) Linkwitz etc? if a person wishes to more precisely set the frequency between tweeters and mids for example to a certain frequency by a particular db or voltage drop at the exact freq?

I'm toying with the idea of using the amps built in crossovers by themselves instead of outboard DSP. From the limited manual and documentation, with "BP" listed on the switches, is it correct that the JAD800.4 can band-pass with the HP and LP settings.. Possibly to run Mids from highpassed 80hz to lowpass 2500hz from the rear channels, then tweeters highpassed at 2500hz from front channels?

Sorry that was two questions. :)
Bradley B on Dec 22, 2014
Best Answer: the frequency that you would want to calibrate the high tweeter and mid speaker drivers as well as the base subwoofer sweetest spot should be set from a primary pre amplifier spectrum crossover for best performance device not the built in crossover in the amplifier .I know the amplifier has great fidelity output but the crossover for high/mid/sub would work best with an isolated high/mid/sub crossover with specific signals run to input for best performance kelly
