I have a 2003 Saab that has 3-1/2" tweeters in the front dash and 6-1/2" woofers in the front doors. I was going to buy separate 3-1/2's for the dash and regular co-ax's for the doors, but my understanding is the factory unit only sends bass to the doors. Can I break these components up and install in the "stock" locations? Would I need to install the crossovers, or is the OEM unit serving that purpose? Appreciate any help you can offer.
Frankie V on Sep 14, 2016
Best Answer: You could just swap the speakers out, because like you said the oem unit is serving that purpose. If you decide to purchase the gto component speakers, it come with the cross overs already "easy to wire". Just make sure to buy a tweeter adapter, since the tweeter is only about 1 inch, and you're vehicle has a 3.5 opening. If you add a 4ch amp, you will need cross overs to prevent bass going through tweeters.

Installing in a 2006 Nissan titan with Rockford Fosgate system. Do you have to use the crossovers or can you use the factory system?
Damon P on Feb 4, 2017
Best Answer: Typically a crossover is designed to target or eliminate sending specific frequencies to specific speakers, such as bass signals to a sub woofer. In this case, the crossover separates higher (treble) signals and sends them to the tweeters. It also allows you some adjustment of how sharp the tweeters sound. Good quality speakers work best when you don't ask them to reproduce sounds outside their designed frequency range. The crossovers come with the speakers so why wouldn't you use them?

Is the tweeter mountable to the mid range speaker as shown in the video? The pictures do not match that of the video.
Austin C on Jun 30, 2016
Best Answer: Hi Austin,

The video does not show that. The video is a general GTO Series overview, not a GTO608C overview. As such, what you see is the JBL GTO628, coaxial speakers.

what is the impedance of the set?... 2 ohms or 4 ohms... Because i see 2 ohms in the description and 4 ohms in the picture of the box...
A shopper on Nov 2, 2015
Best Answer: Hello,

The box actually is implying that you can use the speakers with stereos that are only rated at 4ohms. However, the speakers are IN FACT 2ohm drivers. Below is a link to the manufacturer's site, that will support this.
