how can i mount the ac3000,1d to my speaker box? do i drill screws through the enclosure?
A shopper on Jan 17, 2015
Best Answer: Hello ,

Besides the fact you are DRILLING into your enclosure, we highly recommend finding an alternate location to mount your amplifier because it can be more precarious than it is convenient. Carpet does a very bad job of dissipating heat Away from the source; The source here being the amplifier. Unless you get clever with the use of Spacers, the carpet may cause harm in the long run, but even if you use spacers the next issue is more concerning. Moreover, in high power systems the Enclosure will FLEX/Bend, and will flex/bend anything that is on it. I'm sure it goes without saying, a flexing/bending amplifier is probably not a good thing. Please plan accordingly.

My local audio shop was telling me that i take the fuse number of an amp and in this case it is 30 but there are 2 so that would make 60 and multiply that by 10 which makes 600 that will give me the rms of the amp. ive been going off this ever since they told me that. The product tells me at 1 OHM it will run at 2100. I think i should believe the product but I want to ask somebody that knows a thing or two. Also I have 2 Boss P126DVC 2300 watt max 1150 watt rms. If this amp runs at 2100 rms would it be a good amp for these subs? (of course i would wire the subs to 1 ohm by the way)

Best Answer: Assuming that the subs are truly rated are 1150 watts RMS. You will need an amp that will push 2500 watts of clean RMS. Your amp has to have to have a little breathing room or it will overheat n clipping might occur. From past experience and testing on a dyno. The PA amp ac3000.1D was not truly rated at @ 2100 RMS but below its rating way below. My suggestion to you Is you search for a better quality amp. Make sure that the RMS on the amp are rated according to tech standards. Just an exaggeration by (Planet Audio) to mislead consumers and bump sales. In this case you will get what you pay for if you want quality. This amp is not what you need or what your looking for.

is this a two channel amp?
A shopper on Sep 3, 2015
Best Answer: Negative. This is a one channel amp. I made the mistake of buying this one instead of a 2 channel amp.

What is the RMS wattage at 2ohms in real world application? Im assuming that the manufacturer specs are overstated.
A shopper on Nov 3, 2014
Best Answer: BUYER BEWARE!
You are right my friend! The specs are way over rated, over by 2000watts. Tested with a sound dyno @ 1 ohm it read 479 before clipping. Didnt do any better @ 2 ohms. They must not know RMS or Planet Audio is not having success with this amplifier.
Nice try planet Audio go back to the drawing board!!!

if i have 2 12 inch power acoustic mofo 122x series 2 ohm what would be the best amplifier for me?
Eddie O on Oct 23, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Eddie,

The most common match is the Power Acoustik GT1-2400D, with the MOFO-122X wired in parallel to a 1ohm load.

what speaker works well with this amp?
A shopper on Nov 1, 2014
Best Answer: Hello,

That depends on how much power you wish to push from the amp. We are partial to going with a 2ohm setup, which - if the specs are true - means 1500 watts @ 2 ohms , from this amp.
You also didn't specify a size, budget, or brand preference, but the specs would have us partial to the NVX VCW102 .

I have 2 questions, Phase shift selector, what does it do? Input voltage sensitivity selector switch, what does it do as well?
Radar on Oct 31, 2014
Best Answer: Hello Rodney,

Phase Shift - changes the polarity of the outputs. Think of this as "pushing the sound backwards", instead of Out it goes In. There is more to this, but it will get confusing. Simply put, this changes the sound to match the Stage of your project. This will likely NOT be used.

Input Sensitivity - This is meant to match the Sensitivity of your headunit. If your headunit's PreOuts are 4v, then the switch needs to match that. If you have an entry level headunit, then unfortunately your PreOuts are sub-2v and will need help, so that is why the switch is there.
