all this amp stuff is confusing. I have 2 RF P3's dual 2 ohm - I'm either going to wire them to .5 ohm or 2ohm. I get this amp is (1) Ohm stable.. So I'm confused about the part if this amp will run a pair of P'3s at 2 ohms - they're rated at 600 rms so I want 600 rms going to each. So confusing please help?
K_James on Mar 21, 2017
Best Answer: It will push your P3's all day no probs. I wouldn't recommend .5ohm your woofers won't handle it that long. 2ohm load for your 12's I'm guessing will be just fine. If you don't have a big battery big three upgrade, I wouldn't recommend going .5ohm if you don't have the electrical. You will break your stuff over time from not efficient power supply

Can this kit be used with a 1500 watt amp? I know the fuse is only 100 amp (I'd buy a 150 amp fuse if it wouldn't melt the wire shielding), but the wire seems good quality. The amp I would use with it is the HiFonics HFi1500D.

Best Answer: Yes the wire kit can be used for an 1500 watt (RMS) setup... If the amp calls for an 4 gauge setup your safe... I would be worried if the amp calls for 0 gauge and you where trying to use 4 gauge, that would not be wassup... Plus a MAJOR fire hazzard...

As a matter of fact, I bought this wire for an 1000 watt (RMS) HIfonic... I recently jus bought an 1500 watt (RMS) HiFonic and its working fine

Best Answer: As far as boxes go I built a sealed box to speck and was not vary happy with it, then I bought the sealed atrend 12ql and it sounded a little better. But after buying a ported box for it there was no going back!!! It is one of the best sounding subs I have ever heard in s ported box .

i have alpine sws 15d2. is it ok for me to wire it at 1ohm load on this amp ?
Jay J on Jun 3, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Jay,

As the description suggests, you 'can' wire down to 1ohm. However, its not very wise to do so as the figures dramatically exceed that of the SWS-15D2 . So, in our opinion, it is not "ok" .

I just purchased this amp.. hifonics has always been great.. I bought it to power the new 2014 Memphis mojo 12'' 2ohm it seems like it is pushing good but my sub sound scratchy at low volume and just before the beat hits sometimes the amp will protect and then come out of protect when I turn the bass knob down all the way.. not sure whats going on here?
nicholas s on Aug 27, 2014
Best Answer: If your subwoofer sounds scratchy, it is possible that the subwoofer coil is scraping the magnet. (The woofer may be bad). If you have a Voltmeter, check the resistance of the woofer and make sure it is close to 2 ohms. (1.8 - 2.2 ohms approx is okay). Any resistance outside of what the amp is rated for will blow the amp.

It is possible that the amp and sub were not tuned correctly and listening to music too loud melted the coils of the woofer (resulting in the scratching sound and low resistance of the woofer causing damage to the amp as well)

If the woofer is okay with the correct resistance, then check all the wiring and make sure the + and - are connected the right way.

If everything seems okay, then the amp may be bad, although highly unlikely.

Best of luck! Let me know if you have any more questions.

matthew l on Jul 2, 2016
Best Answer: Yes this amp will work well. Just remember that at 1500 watts is close to 125 amps draw from your cars electrical system

Wil this amp blow my sub wired for 2 ohms it's an l7 15 inch?
A shopper on Mar 26, 2016
Best Answer: I have it pushing a cvx 15 at 2 and I sometimes feel like I could get away with more watts but my box is super thick I don't think it lets the sub do what it should

Best Answer: Yes, this should work. I have mine hooked up to two Sundown E-12s (500W RMS each) at 2 ohms and haven't had any issues. Clean power for a low price.

Would this amp work for 2 rockford fosgate R2d4 10's?
Michael M on Mar 1, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Michael,

Two Rockford Fosgate R2D4-10 will be asking for ~500w RMS @1ohm (Parallel) or @4ohms (Series/Parallel) . This means the HFi500D is a good match, and the subs MUST be wired in Series/Parallel to a 4ohm load.

i have 2 12" re audio sexv2d4 the ones sold with the bass package you guys sell how should i wire it? Also what upgrades would i need for a 99 civic ex coupe to run all the power?
Currently stock electrical system new alternator with lifetime warranty
ronnie on Dec 26, 2015
Best Answer: Hi Ronald,

The wiring is up to you, your installer and/or what the install allows. You have two options, below is the most common. (Note: Neither option is "better" than the other.)

(Yes, we know your amplifier has two outputs. Yes, you only need to use one pair. No, it won't make a difference using both.)

As for upgrades, we cannot accurately determine that for you. Your current system would need to be tested by an installer or mechanic. What we can say, is that you MIGHT need an upgraded primary battery OR a small auxiliary battery. Also, "lifetime warranty" doesn't come into play here, so we aren't sure what you are trying to convey there. Lastly, there is a small chance you may not need an upgrade at all, so plan accordingly.
