some sellers say the recommended wire for this amp is 8 gauge. is it safe to use 4 gauge wire on this amp?
marc b on Sep 4, 2014
Best Answer: If you are talking about power wire, it is indeed safe to use 4 AWG. Be sure to use True AWG OFC(Oxygen Free Copper) wire and use the same AWG or gauge wire for grounds and keep them grounds short.

If you are talking about speaker wire, True 12 AWG OFC wire is recommended.

Best Answer: Hello Brahm,

You may want to resubmit your question, but elaborate a bit and be more clear. We aren't sure if you are implying that you wish to run four subwoofers on this or just the one detailed in the beginning of your question.

Assuming you just wish to know if that ONE amplifier will run that ONE subwoofer, NO. The subwoofer can be wired up to 4ohms or down to 1ohm. The amplifier CANNOT run at 1ohm and does not provide anywhere close to the 1000w RMS that the subwoofer wants @4ohms. You seek an amplifier providing ~1000w RMS @1ohm.

Since this amplifier does not have bass level regulator, does it mean it will be running in full power all the time?
Aziz A on Apr 28, 2015
Best Answer: This particular amplifier does have a gain control as well as a built in crossover. So no, the amp will not be running at full power all the time. I am running 2 10" Sony Xplod subs bridged down to 2ohms in a labrynth ported enclosure. They hit very hard with excellent range and little to no distortion.

Running 2 Kicker 10" Comp VR's single VC (4 ohm) what size speaker wire for a 15 ft run from amp to subs ?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2016
Best Answer: We're going to assume you are referring to a Kicker CVR104. Of which, will run well with a 12 gauge run of speaker wire.

Will this match the Kicker CompR 12" DVC 4Ohm? I wanted to go with Kenwood KAC-9106D But I think 1000Rms at 2 ohms will fry the sub, is that true? Becasue I heard kicker compr 12 can handle way more than 800rms. Is there a chance if I buy the 9601d and turn the gain all the way down it will properly work until i get the seconds sub in far future? And also which wirink kit should I get with this amp? Links would be appreciated. Thank You!

Best Answer: Hello Aziz,

The second can be properly ran. However, it has absolutely nothing to do with the driver being able to "handle way more". And it ESPECIALLY has nothing to do with turning "the gain all the way down" which we HIGHLY advise against. It all comes down to 1)Being responsible and 2)Making sure the system is tuned properly and built well. The most important part of the setup is the Signal you send the amplifier. If you sen the amplifier a dirty signal, its going to amplify a dirty signal, and That is going to destroy the driver , not the power. In addition, a clean Power Signal is going to be needed, which leads to the wiring kit; an OFC wiring kit is highly recommended .
